In less than three years, Bazique Festival has firmly established itself as South Africa’s most original and exciting, large-scale festival of performing art and was even voted ‘World’s Best Boutique Festival ‘ at the Tuvalu International Festival Awards.
What’s most important about Bazique Festival, over and above the spectacular installations to muse over, art-cars, art-boats and pop-up exhibitions, is their astronomical music lineups. You’ll find all kinds of electronic and live music ‘on play’ during your wild and wonderful weekend at Bazique Festival -taking place this year at Ruitersvlei Estate near Paarl.
Bazique Festival has confirmed an impressive list of talent who’ll be performing across the art immersive stages alongside independent collectives and collaborators such as Wolfkop Weekender, CTEMF, Bridges For Music, Sexy Groovy Love, Diskotekah, Into The Wild and TOY TOY – collaborating for their first year- who’ll all be presenting their curated lineups and festival experiences throughout the weekend.
Over the weekend at Bazique, you’ll be treated to four stages including The Boombox, the Kraal, The Corona Ukudlala Beach Bar and the Le Fee Verte stage (a personal favourite of the MyCityByNight team) with over 55 artists performing over three days plus an elusive new stage in the middle of the lake called, ‘Journey’s End Island’. Find out who’s performing where, below!
Our personal music picks for the weekend:
Friday: Karoo, Fogshow, TERR, Michael Kennedy, Daru, Tommy Gun, Jews For Techno, Egg & Spoon for Saturday’s sunrise session
Saturday: Don’t leave the Boombox all Saturday for Into The Wild & Toy Toy’s takeover. Other mentions include: Shift Mawelele, Marcus Worgull, Bambeano, Toby2shoes, Kanan K7, Shimza, MR JAY
Sunday: Sadhu Sensi, the Head Gardener, Floyd Lavine, Maximillian, El Gordo (closing duties, don’t miss this)
LINE UP & TIMES:
