Wolfkop Weekender: The sixth Lilo River Flow headlined by Pional (Spain)

January brings the first summer month of the new decade, and there’s no better place to dance yourself well into the new year than at Wolfkop’s popular Lilo River Flow. Taking place from 16 – 20 January 2020, Cape Town’s best-kept party secret returns to the breathtaking depths of Citrusdal alongside The Olifants River for 4 days and 4 nights of frivolous fun in nature.

Lilo River Flow 2020 is Wolfkop’s sixth flagship summer soirée and has sold out for the last two years running! As with each Lilo River Flow, Wolfkop will be presenting a smorgasbord of shenanigans; a warm-up on Thursday evening at the boma, two full days and nights of music on the riverbank and the fast-becoming-stuff-of-folklore after-party on Sunday night back in the boma!

Lilo River Flow: Take me to the river…

In a months time we'll be sinking back and lying low in our best body of water, the Olifants River in the Citrus Valley. Take a meander through the Lilo Flow that was in January this year and get ready for another beautiful assault on the senses when we return in 2020.Grab your tickets this side of the year, before they have waned along with the last full moon of the decade: https://www.wolfkopweekender.co.za/

A bevvy of musical beauts have been confirmed – the January 2020 headliner has been at the top of a very long hit list for Wolkop organisers, right since it’s inception back in 2014. The team are proud to announce international headliner, Pional  Musiq, who will carry the festival from daytime through twilight and into the dark of night on Saturday. Madrid native, Miguel Barros aka Pional has had an enviable career that has seen him perform across the globe and sign to some of the most significant record labels in modern electronic music including Hivern Discs, Young Turks and Permanent Vacation.

Joining the Lilo River Flow’s list of the headline acts are local export Floyd Lavine, who has traversed the globe, started a label and played headline slots in all four corners to rapturous applause and adoration and Antwerp-based Lola Haro, who, in a very short career has seen herself sharing the stage by invitation with the likes of Motor City Drum Ensemble, DJ Koze and most recently, Peggy Gou.

Undoubtedly one of Wolfkop’s fiercest lineups yet will also feature a long list of supporting stars including, Abstract Method, Aero Manyelo, The Fogshow, Thor Rixon, LEEU, Bruno Morphet, Mac Motel and more!

Wolfkop’s finely curated music adventure will be complemented by an array of new activities and mischievous little extras this year. The festival will offer a selection of outdoor and wellness activities, including a 2km walking trail, yoga sessions in the morning, sound journey meditation, kayaking and swimming, and the traditional High Tea, which pops up near the dancefloor on Saturday.

Alongside a selection of the city’s most delicious food vendors, there will be a handful of market stalls and a spa offering various forms of massages. And if you seek, you shall find The Mirage; a curated chill space serving plant-based food and healing herbal teas.

Wolfkop will offer a fully-stocked bar with gin and beer on tap plus wine and bubbles and the usual spirits and mixers –  plus, look out for The Loose Caboose, a popup rum bar serving Copeland Rum. Festival attendees are also encouraged to bring a reusable container to drink from to minimize waste.

There are various camping options across three different campsites; Berry Fields, Golden Valley and Lost Valley. The entry-level ticket is BYO in Golden Valley; where you can bring your camping gear and bedding, and the top tier is Lush Camping in Berry Fields, which offers a lushly appointed bell tent – which you can top up with mini-fridge, directors chairs, a raised bed, fairy lights and a bottle of bubbles if you feel like being uber fancy.

Wolfkop has also added luxurious floating jetties, which can be privately booked, providing shade and a perch from which to watch the festival unfold. The jetties have been made from upcycled wood and offer an eco-friendly alternative to plastic lilos. These can be shared nicely between groups of 6-8 people. You can explore the ticket options in more detail right here.
