  1. Would LOVE to see Modest Mouse in JHB! Its my 21st birthday on 6th May, this would be the best gift ever 🙂 🙂

  2. Hi…
So I pretty much suck at these kind of things, but here goes. I’m relatively young lad from Johannesburg that would love a set of these Parklife tickets to see Klingande. I fell in love with them and just never (in all honesty) thought they’d make it “mainstream”… I always thought they’d sorta be underground. A friend from Switzerland sent me some of their songs and I just fell in-love. So yeah, I’d love a set. I’ll be sharing this post as well. You know, “paying it forward” and what not. Thank you

  3. I NEED to see Jeremy Loops in Cape Town because I was slow to get tickets to see him at Kirstenbosch.

  4. Modest Mouse for sure. Likean the idiot when the lineup was first announced I thought who?. Then i realized i know their stuff and enjoy it, just never took note of the band’s name. #fail

  5. PHFAT – because he is always dropping sick new tracks to try out on the live audiences. I love it, if I want to listen to the radio I would stay at home!!

  6. American Authors!!!! Their album moved through me during a very difficult season in my life. Their song, “Oh, what a life” was the theme of my life, and still is a song that give me the chills when I hear it.

  7. I’ve had a love affair with Modest Mouse ever since I came across them in an episode of The OC! Make my dream of seeing them play in Cape Town come true!

  8. there is many artists i would like to see but for now it would have to be Johnny Apple
He is by far the best male artist in South Africa (Origonal voice) i think as a new comer and i would like to see and hear him at a live arena before he gets to popular.

i would like to go to PARKLIFE GOURMET FOOD AND MUSIC FESTIVAL – Johannesburg because All the people I love are going to be there, You meet new friends and in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures and the Line up is sick (really exciting)

  9. I would love to see Jeremy Loops in Cape Town. The tickets for his show at Kirstenbosch sold out before I could buy, so I missed out on that 🙁 And I want to dance in my skinny blues while he sings skinny blues 😀

  10. I am SO looking forward to Modest Mouse. They’re such an original, great sounding band. I can’t wait to see them in Cape Town! I think I deserve tickets as I am a fan of all things going on at Parklife… great food and amazing music!

  11. Dear MyCityByNight,
I absolutely HAVE to see Modest Mouse live in Joburg since they are one of my favourite bands ever and it is on my bucket list to see them live. I’d literally do anything for these tickets.

  12. I really need to see Jeremy Loops in Cape Town!! So I can be creepy and make eye contact during the concert..

  13. i don’t have a specific artist or group that i would like to see the most (i have waay too many to choose only one)
but i truly feel that music, no matter the genre or style, is a beautiful way of bringing different people together with ONE common passion. it connects people and creates magical memories. i honestly don’t think i would be alive if it wasn’t for music. Parklife is an experience one should not miss and i honestly hope you all can help me make my dream become a reality, because listening and experiencing these wonderful acts would make my heart happy and my soul dance.

i would be so increadibly grateful if you would be ever so kind as to acknowledge this post. thank you for reading, peace and love be with you!

  14. trying to think of the artist or group i want to see the most is like a mother deciding which child is her favourite. it’s literally impossible!
i truly feel that music as a whole connects people in a beautiful way, regardless of genre or style. music has the potential to transform the world, Parklife is an experience one should not miss whatsoever. people are brought together from all four corners because music has such a powerful effect on the mind, body, heart and soul.
i would honestly not survive without music.

being able to attend to parklife would be a dream finally becoming a reality and it would be so magical if you were to make that possible for me. i would be eternally grateful, thank you for reading this and i hope you acknowledge this post.

  16. I recently moved up to Johannesburg and would do anything to experience a live performance of the bands performing at the Parklife Festival as I haven’t experienced any of them Live! I have quite a few favorites but Jeremy Loops – i have to see him Live!! Music is something that keeps me going, makes me happy & that can change my mood with just a little beat, therefor I would love to be there!

  17. I really want to see Monark ♡♡ They are one of my favourite bands and I would really be so grateful to get the opportunity to see them performing at Parklife!! The event has such an incredible line up and I would really like to be apart of the festives ♡♡

  18. I will to see the whole show cos month end its my birth day it will be perfect present for me . Jo burgburg.

  19. Would be an absolute dream to watch modest mouse in my home town, and suburb!! Greenpoint Cape Town!!!!!! I will be able to safely walk to the party, have a quaint little gourmet dinner, dance the heels off my shoes, and then run barefoot across the street to the safety of my home.
Perfect way to end off the Summer festival season with a finale in my backyard!!

    🙂 Pretty Please?

  20. Do you guys follow Jeremy Loops on FB and Instagram?
He has the most beautiful way of connecting with his fans, almost replying to every single commentwhe receives.
He speaks like a true South African and his music is just so rad..
    I adore him.
SO….on that note, Jeremy Loops CAPE TOWN ♡♡♡

  21. I would love to see Modest Mouse for nostalgia sake, Monark for present me’s sake, PHFAT would be sick live and I’m sure American Authors and The Plastics would be awesome too……. So much to look forward to!!!

  22. Hello I reside in Johannesburg and i am a culinary arts student.. the artist that i have always wanted and dreamt of seeing and experiencing their talent first hand are the gangs of ballet

  23. I most want to see Modest Mouse because I’ve been listening to them for quite a while and really appreciate their chilled vibes, also because I don’t already have a ticket. Cape Town, please!

  24. I’d really like to see Jeremy Loops, there’s this something cool about him,he awesome & awesomely insane.
He has a good vibe & fun!

    JHB – Marks Park!

  25. Would love to see Klingande purely because the style of music is so awesome. Very chilled, but a great beat and rhythym. I would like to go to the Cape Town show.

  26. ah I would really like to win this for my boyfriend and I to see modest mouse!!! He gave it to me like 10 years back when we were just friends, music is pretty much what our relationship derived it’s also his 30th in May so this would be an epic present for him:):)

  30. Would love to see jimmy nevis.I’m a huge fan and always miss the opportunity to see him perform live.

  31. I’m actually very keen to see Jeremy Loops play even though I feel as if the music of Modest Mouse has grown with me through the years. I missed all of Jeremy’s shows in SA recently because of family commitments that I made (sometimes you have to miss a show for this…) even though I seriously wanted to check him out! My last memory of him was at 4pm at Oppikoppi when everyone (and I mean everyone) went BALLISTIC for him. Special times…

  32. To fill a picnic basket of goodies, to eat and relax while listening to the live bands in cape town nothing more worth living for after hard week worth of work. And if I had to choose one band to scream too and act like wild child from mars It would be Monark.

  33. Cape Town would be my choice of Park,
I am yet to witness the majestic Monark.

Modest Mouse are my favourite American Authors,
    I think their sick.
    But then again,
    So are the Plastics.

    For my dose of rap,
    We have the legendary PHFAT.
    MyCityByNight,
    this line up is tight!

  34. I have loved Modest Mouse for many years now and would love to see them in Cape Town! To hear their unique style live would be amazing for me.
This event looks like a rare opportunity combining food and great music, I would appreciate these tickets soooo much! Please send them my way 🙂

  35. I really want to see Monark perform live. Those boys from Potch are something else…beautiful inspiring music! A unique sound that’s refreshing and speaking of refreshing I am so keen to sample all the nom nominess on the day!

  36. Guys, I absolutely have to see Modest Mouse in Johannesburg. They are 70% of the reason I got through one of the worst patches of my life. They are more awesome than cheese cake and that’s saying a helluva a lot. Pick. Me.!

  37. I would really love to win tickets to Parklife because I have been waiting to see Modest Mouse for 7 whole years!!!! It would mean the world to me to be given this amazing opportunity. Since Parklife brought our acts to one stage, please My City By Night assist us with being able to experience and enjoy it as a couple!

  39. i would LOVE to see modest mouse live, ever since I dreamt about seeing them live a few years ago I’ve loved them. Please please can I have the tickets?!

  40. Modest Mouse got me through some tough times, especially with ‘Float On’. I’d love to see them in my beautiful Cape Town.

  41. PHFAT! I think they a really innovative duo, love their flow! They have a MFDOOM/GORILLAS vibe about them and would really really love to seem them live in Johannesburga. Plus my gf is a foodie, would love to share that day with her.

  43. I would really love to win tickets for Cape Town. Its my partners bday tomorrow and he was so gutted he missed Jeremy loops at Kirstenbosch, we tried so hard to get tickets and it really was a shame because he absolutely loves him. ah yes! marks park in Johannesburg 🙂

  45. I want to see Modest Mouse in Cape Town, been jamming to that since 2000. Swing some tickets china, I am hopeless at winning anything, ever. will be stoked to get some tickets.

  46. Johannesburg. Arghhhh why do I have to choose but if I must I Would love to see The Kiffness and Gangs of Ballet.

  47. I would absolutely love to see modest mouse in cape town. I have recently moved here away from my family, my brother was the one that introduced me to the band so it would give me a little slice of home. They also make the most spectacular music and would be the happiest human to be apart of the jams.

  48. I would love to see Modest mouse in Cape Town, the first concert I ever went to; Modest mouse was playing on everyone’s car stereos as I arrived and it created such a pumped up vibe. Love them

  49. Modest Mouse in Cape Town all the way. Would probably go apeshit during Dashboard!

  50. Looking forward to see Jeremy Loops. His music is out of this world. He is unique and can multitask. JHB

  51. I recently moved up to Johannesburg and would do anything to experience a live performance of the bands performing at the Parklife Festival as I haven’t experienced any of them Live! I have quite a few favorites but Jeremy Loops – i have to see him Live!! 52. Klingande in Cape Town please please please! I introduced them to my friends a few years ago, so when Jubel hit our radios we already knew it (this is also probably one of the only moments of my life when I was considered as hip, or cool. I treasure it. It was a good day). Anyway, my best friend now has tickets, and because varsity and because student I can’t afford to join her. Which sucks because now she is going on her own. She also has the tendency to get lost and cause general mayhem, meaning she will be without supervision which could be dangerous for everyone. Please help me, and the Cape Town community, by not making her go alone!

  53. Heard Monark on the radio the other day, couldn’t believe they are South African. So fucking great! Would love to see them in Cape Town!

  54. I want to go see PHFAT in CT so I can see Mike actually singing (not rapping) because that must be quite sick, it is hard to imagine the two completely contrasting voices in ‘Panic at Cluster B’ are coming out of him.

  55. Hi, I am from Johannesburg…
To be honest with you I don’t want these tickets… I NEED THESE TICKETS!!! You see my pet unicorn loves Gangs of Ballet but unfortunately I was not able to afford to fulfill my Unicorns biggest wish… So I searched high and low until I came across your page where I could perhaps win some tickets. I know I’m taking a leap of faith but who knows anything could happen (I mean I have a Unicorn)

oh yes! And in Johannesburg 🙂

  57. MODEST MOUSE! I’m that poor kid in Cape Town that never wins anything. You don’t understand how happy you would make me if I could win tickets to see one of my favorite bands. The first year budget struggle is as real as it can be right now. Please!

  58. The band I really wanna see isn’t just a band but the legendary PHFat! Haven’t seen them in ages and I have a few friends who have yet to see their spectacular live show. Been following phfat for 4 years now and would spend the money to see them alone, if I had it. Will be the life of the party if I win these tickets!
