For years SA Music Scene has been supporting the local music industry in various aspects, creating coverage as far as possible for all musses and events. This time round SA Music Scene will be in partnership with The Side Show to host an event some of South Africa’s finest will be performing for the first time at The Side Show so come be a part of history and show your support for SA Music.



aKING is a melodic Pop-Rock band. The band was formed when Hunter Kennedy and Jaco Venter from Fokofpolisiekar, teamed up with friends Laudo Liebenberg and Hennie van Halen, joining their combined creative forces in making music that expresses their shared experiences and influences.

Al Bairre
Since launching at the beginning of 2012 and taking to stages across South Africa, Al Bairre, the Cape Town based five-piece classic indie pop band. With their goal to take an indie band and turn it into an “ice cream of orchestral sounds”.

The Plastics
The Plastics are an Indie Retro Rock band. Words to describe their music, experiences and work ethic include ‘innovative’, ‘Earl Grey’, ‘guerrilla’, ‘disco SOMETHING’, ‘retro rock’ and ‘melodic’, amongst others. The Plastics are on a journey and a mission to make you have fun and dance. The Plastics are here to change the game.

The Ballistics
The Ballistics is a young, unique and energetic four-piece blues-rock band. The year 2014 sees the band’s name change from Ballistic Blues to The Ballistics. They are set to play at RAMfest and The Kleinmond Big Blues Festival. Their debut full-length album is also due to drop in the first half of the year!

The Robfather
The king of swing, the duke of dance, the ayatollah of rock ‘n rolla,the host with the most.
Highly sexed never vexed and always next, a party guaranteed making it rain on any dancefloor with a mixed arsenal from straight up rock and roll, maybe some 80’s and a dash of big beat.
