Rumoured to have the blue-prints for Krang's TechnoDrome, stolen straight from Dimension X, he’s the type of guy who exudes so much coolness that he adds whole countries on Facebook at one time instead of just people. Always up for a party and a Tequila shot or two this is the guy who we always call first, both before and after a night out…

  6. The Cat Empire

    Desert Head
    Stone Age Citizens
    Felix Laband
    Thor Rixon

My favourite memory of rocking the daisies has to be two years ago, staying late on the Sunday waiting for the hustle and bustle to cool down by taking a dip in the damn and a boogie at the beach bar until we were asked to leave!

  7. My favorite RTD moment was back in 2013!!! We were a couple of friends that worked behind the bar. When we were done with our shift at 2:00 ish Sunday morning we went to the electronic dome and because it was my first experience at RTD I was blown away by the set up of the stage it was absolutely AMAZING.. the whole thing was exceptional. This was also my worse moment as we were tired and not keen to party after such a long shift!!! I could not afford to go last year, but this year I have to experience it as a festival goer and NOT working!!!! Milky chance in my FACE!!!

  8. 1. Milky Chance; Jeremy Loops, Al Bairre, Jack Parrow, Tommy Gun.

Fokofpolisiekar – for being my rock in the past 8 years of living in South Africa and making learning afrikaans a whole lot easier!
aKING – same reason as FPK apart from the Afr..
7th Son – Cause Nic Gaud is the shit!
Jack Parow – Cause no party is a real party without Oom Parow ini moderfokkng huis!!!

  13. My friend and I went the year ALT J played, RTD 2013.
We are both pretty short people and arrived at the Main Stage like 20 mins too late
( being distracted by all the festiveness, as you do) to get a good spot in the front.
We literally could only see the lights from the stage projected into the sky.. So we were like screw this, lets just go stand at the back and jam where theirs space. We can still hear and appreciate it AND have ample dancing space. We finally managed to get to the back of the masses to conveniently find an empty bench chilling inline with the centre of the stage. That became our platform to watch the incredible performance with the most epic view of the stage and awesome sound! That was one of my favourite RTD memories!

  14. 1. Milky Chance!

    1. Jeremey Loops
    2. PH Fat
    3. Al Bairre
    4. The Rudimentals

My favorite #RTD memory was last year when I meet a kind strange when I lost all my friends after Crystal Fighters. During MGMT, he put me on his shoulders for the entire time and shared his drinks with me. I got to experience seeing one of my favorite bands of all time, lifted up above the crowd. It was a magical moment seeing all th lights shining on the heads of the thousands of people standing around the Main Stage, all dancing and enjoying the music together! I fell in love with Daisies that night, and have promised myself will go every single year until I die!???

  15. Awks.. 🙂 let me try this again :

    – Milky Chance
    – Aking
    – Al Bairre

    3rd keenest – Dane Stirrat
    4th keenest – Aking
    5th keenest – Grassy sparks

My favourite #RTD was a few years back think maybe 2013 funday funday. I was meant to be designated driver, however my bestie did me a massive solid and said he would drive. Ahhh so that pretty much free’d up my schedule for the day. I embraced this freedom. Got involved in the jaegermeister scratch card competition and dedicated my afternoon to winning everything. Needless to say my tenacity paid off and in celebration I managed to get my hands on a water gun and started squirting a crowd of friends at the main stage whilst Matthew Mole was serenading. I imagine I was like a Jagermeister clad cowboy in a duel shouting out scarface quotes. Which is a tick off my bucket list.

  17. Jeremy loops

I am submitting another comment, as there are too many incredible acts and life changing memories from Daisies to only do one!?

One of my favorite #RTD memories is watching Alt-J at Daisies 2013, with 10 of my closest friends, of whom all came down with me from Grahamstown especially to see them! We all wore our Rhodes University purple overalls, and everyone who saw us absolutely loved our festive vibe and overwhelming gees! I cannot wait to go back to Daisies, please MyCityByNight, make my dream come true!❤️

  21. Int: Beyond excited to see MILKY CHANCE
Local: 100% need to see my 2 baby daddies JEREMY LOOPS & JACK PAROW

    4. Roadtripping to daisies with strangers, having our borrowes tent ripped from the wind and having to crash with neighboors. Spending 3 days of absolute madness and music with your best friend and watching Alt J perform live, after that to sit on a Jagermeister barrel next to my best friend and watching Skunk Anansie at midnight drinking red wine out of a water bottle.

  25. I can’t wait for:
    – Milky Chance
    – Jeremy Loops
    – Aking
    – Al Bairre

The Skene Brothers… Because they are the Kings of The Beach!
YETI.. The time will come when we want to get serious!
BE SVENDSEN… Rocked it in the middle of the desert of a crazy looking wolf train 🙂
POP ART… Groovy LIVE act from JHB!

It was Daisies 2012! The Saturday sun was slowly drifting down as the majestic balloon chain grew higher and higher into the sky. It was a hot day but what remained now was thousands of individuals roaming around the festival grounds. All I could hear was cries of laughter as the Rave Cave started coming alive! Myself and my good friend (Baby Jesus) were taking a time out as we prepared to give the Beach Bar one final push before the evening session! Laying in a field amongst hundreds of tiny daisies, we confirmed with each other that #RTD is world class and the best that SA has to offer. It was our first time and without any hesitation, we agreed that it wouldn’t be the last!

  28. Having recently walked out of an 8 hour Berghain set smiling and ready for more, I think it’s safe to say that SCUBA is going to annihilate the Electronic Dome this year. The first and foremost priority for me would to see this man in action at #RTD2015. The selection of local acts performing at Daisies this year is so absolutely pristine that limiting the choice to only four favourites is an incredibly tricky, almost impossible endeavour. That said, I am incredibly happy to see Jumping Back Slash and Jakobsnake return to the Nu World Beat Club, I think Hessien+ are going to blow people away with their first performance at the festival and I have a feeling Trancemicsoul is going to tear the Dome to shreds. It’s equally difficult to pick a favourite Daisies moment, but one that I will never forget is the night that Skin from Skunk Anansie made an entire crowd sit down and shut up, crawling to the sound booth, making a path of hands back to the stage, rolling down said path of hands from sound booth back to stage while kissing every beautiful girl on the way. If only I could get closer…

  29. Oh my!!! The Cat Empire!!! Their groovy, funky, latin, jazz vibe always get me going!!
Jamming to them would be one of the best experiences ever!!

Please make me the happiest motherRocker in the world!! This would definitely be the highlight of my year! It would be amazing if you could make this my hattrick year and give me the chance to join the party with my friends and all the other daisiy lovers.

Last year at #RTD my friends and I went to watch Mix n Blend at one of the smaller stages while Chrystal Fighters were playing (missing half of their show).. our bad… But that was definitely one of the highlights of my weekend.. A small intimate crowd with amazing live music and just feeling it and expressing the happiness! That experience with my best friends made missing half of Chrystal Fighters worth it..
Please give me the opportunity to have a moment like that with my friends again this year, since I live alllll the way across the country I don’t get the chance to have that time with them!

  30. MILKY CHANCE

FAVOURITE #RTD moment: A couple of years ago I was pretty bummed that I went to Daisies as a single man & didn’t find a lady the entire weekend 🙁 About a year later, I was having a conversation with a very well presented madame, and found out that, a) I did in fact meet a fine young lady, and b) said lady was the girl I was conversing with. #winning #ayearlate

  33. CAT EMPIRE !!!!!!!! Thats all I have to say. This crazy ska band has taken me on a whirlwind adventure. I need to see them live at RTD together with the people I love that already have tickets!

BOO, HAEZER, NOMADIC ORCHESTRA and TWELV & THESIS are going to give me my festival freedom. I am a music loving creep who deserves to watch my all time favourite band Cat Empire on non other than South African grounds. Please give me that chance.

My favourite RTD moment will be if I can make my first virgin Daisies memories with new and old friends exploring the possibilities of epic festival life.

  34. 1. Milky Chants
    2. PH Phat
    3. The Rudeimentals
    4. Jeremy Loops
    5. Jack Parrow

I have had so many unforgettable moments at RTD, but 1 moment I will
Never forget, it was quiet late night/ early morning, my fuzzy mind at that time can not quite remember, myself and a few of my mates where walking out the New World Beat Barn, I just mentioned to a friend, why was it that we always the last to remain, she just tapped me on the shoulder and said… Just look behind you… And there behind me was the Red Bull Stage and there must have been about a thousand or more people still jamming so hard and it was humming.. We thought oh well… Joined in there till the very end! I must say it gave me goosebumps, I maintain we all can’t be wrong, if partying and having the best time
    Is a crime.

  35. 1. The Cat Empire
    – The Skene brothers
    – Bruno Morphet
    – Ryan Murgatroyd
    – Strange Loving
    4. last year, singing in unison with everyone to Crystal Fighters. still gives me goosebumps thinking about it.

  36. International artist has to be MILKY CHANCE, my dreams of seeing this performance is finally come true.
Local acts have to bw: Jack Parrow (saw him at assembly this passed week and he’s a jol), Brother, Strange Loving and Niskerone!!!!!
My favorite memory was from 2014. Even though it was hot as hell, my friends and I couldn’t wait for Rudimentals to perform and that Saturday night, to this day, is one of my favorite night’s at a festival

  37. Hey Kreg, Thanks for this AMAZING opportunity 🙂 Much Appreciated 🙂 I would definitely have to say most excited to see PORTER ROBINSON!!! So difficult to only choose 4 local Acts as most I cant wait to see for the first time, but of past experiences I would have to say (1) Haezer (2) Hyphen (3) Jeremy Loops (4) Jack Parow

Favourite #RTD Moment was whilst on our way to the Electronic Dome from the Main Stage, walking down those busy gravel paths, best mates side by side going to witness Rudimental (UK) Live Set, so many people walking towards us and one oke shouts at the top of his voice, “FLOOOOOD, FLOOOOOD”!!!! and one of the girls that were walking with us (“slightly” inebriated) gets a fright and starts running into the opposite direction, that was one memory I and we will NEVER forget! Completely EPIC weekend with amazing mates as well as meeting new ones along the way. WE ALL NEED TO EXPERIENCE THIS AGAIN. Also my life needs to witness Porter Robinson drop Language live in a set, LIFE CHANGING MOMENT!!!

Goodluck to all the Entrants and thanks again for the opportunity Kreg 🙂 #RTD2015 #MCBN #PorterRobinson #Language

  38. So super excited for the kooks ? and always love seeing jezza loops, grassy spark and PH phat ?? this will be my 4th and final daisies as it is my last year in cape teeeezy ? would be epic to win tickets to go have the best time with the greatest mates and maybe actually buy a tent for this year ? my favourite moments have been similar over the last three years. Mostly I have somehow managed to meet people who invited me backstage every year, don’t ask me how, and plan to somehow do it all over again ?. I loved chilling on my lilo the whole of #RTD2014. I enjoyed it so much I only left on Sunday at 6pm. Winning this tickets would be super super siiiiiiick. So pick me ???☀️

  39. Milky Chance, Jeremy Loops, PHFat, Monark, aKing.
There are actually to many favourite #RTD moments, but I think one that sums up Daisies for me was last year during one of the hottest days of my life, when me and my friends were just sitting around our campsite, sweating it out, listening to music floating over from the beach bar, having the most amazing banter!

  40. I’ve never been to #RTD before so I’m hoping this year’s #RTD will be legendary because with the courtesy of MCBN I’ll be seeing Porter Robinson live for the very first time ???? and go crazy to Niskerone, Haezer, Jeremy Loops aaaaaaaaaaand JACK PAROW ??

My favourite #RTD moment.. goodness..what a fantastic flood of epic memories!

I think the RTD moment that tops my (long) list of awesomeness must be the Sunday at last years dasies.. at none other than the Sailor Jerry Beach Bar! My Goodness!! The music was hotter than the sun and the beers colder than the river water they were floating in. I’m gonna tell me flippen kids about that day.. and every other daisies memory (that I remember).

  49. It would have to be The Kooks for the international act. I listen to them every. single. day. and that’s not an exaggeration. My flatmate sighs daily. The local acts would have to be the fresh Grassy Spark, Alice Phoebe Lou, Al Bairre, and good ol’Jeremy Loops!

My favourite moment twas running to catch Grassy Spark playing at the Hemp Stage. We made it just in time to groove to their sick tunes!

  50. The Kooks, Fokofpolisiekar, Jeremy Loops, The Rudimentals & Jack Parow

  53. Toughie ?

Definitely keen for Milky Chance – Jeremy Loops, The Nomadic Orchestra, The Rudimentals and Niskerone!

Favorite #RTD moment would have to be jamming with my mates all night long, tequila and chilling out by the dam listening to some super dope music ?

  54. The Cat Empire
    +
    Ryan Murgatroyd
    The Skene Brothers
    Bruno Morphet
    Floyd Lavine

Favourite #RTD moment would be 2 years ago, when there was AVERAGE weather the whole weekend and then Sunday came and all the stages closed except the beach bar and the sun was cooking a solid 28 degrees and babes were haaaving it by the beach bar in their bikinis, the guys were throwing it down in their sunnies and there was just an incredible atmosphere swirling around that floor! Also with sunday tickets being like a hundred bucks there was a fresh wave of peeps pulling through. What a day that was! OOoh and we had lazarusman behind the decks chanting his divine wisdom upon us while the skenes and zuluboy cruised out the sweetest melodies!

  55. I’m so soooooo amped to see Milky Chance cannot wait for this 10th year I also can’t wait to see Jeremy loops, 7th Sun, Monark and Bed on Bricks!!!
My favorite moment of daisies is arriving with my best friend ready for the best weekend and getting to a spot to pitch our tent and realized our tent bag was zip tied closed and we couldn’t open it, we resorted to a nail file and sat there for about an hour! Very blonde moment! Just made the weekend more awesome!! #RTD #RTD2015

  56. Milky Chance

  60. International Artist: THE CAT EMPIRE
Local Acts: Alice Phoebe Lou, Grassy Spark, Sibot & The Hog Hoggidy Hog Tribute show (I absolutely loved them and would love to pay my musical respects for George).
My Favourite RTD moment out of the six Daisies I’ve been to has to be the moment when The Kongos brought me to tears during a cover of “Come Together” because when I looked next to my best friend at the time she was in tears too. I’ve had so many defining moments of my life at this festival it would be a shame too miss out.

For multiple years now, from the moment I begin my journey to Daisies, I simply win at everything. My winnings however, are not material. Simply: never have I ever had a sad, bad or slightly “un-fun” experience at this party. Over an above winning with the actual experience with my winning herd of alcoholic friends, I win with the weather, I win with a great campsite, I win with skipping lines and getting a shower that still has hot water, I win with epic music, I win with finding people’s very important belongings and returning it to them (strange reoccurrence which makes me happy). I win for the weekend. BUT, I have yet to win a free ticket. How winning would Daisies be then?!

    -aKing!
    -Yeti!
    -December Streets!
    -Bed on Bricks!
    So. Much. Excitement.

My favourite #RTD moment is while watching an act perform and you’re surrounded by people who love that act just like you, singing in unison, kicking up dust with sore feet, nobody cares how off tune they sound, or if their flower crown is sitting on their head at just the right angle, no pretentiousness, just a crowd whyling out in synchronicity to a sick ass performance!

  67. The Kooks
    The Rudimentals
    Sadhu Sensi
    Haezer
    Al Bairre

I can’t tell you a favourite moment because I’ve never had the oppurtunity to experience a RTD! Seeing as this may be my last year in Cape Town for a while, I think it’s the perfect year to have a new experience, listen to REAL live music and just indulge in the entertainment that happens there!
It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and if not this year, I know it will be in the many years to come! But seeing as The Kooks are playing, this year would be a dream! ❤️
To making new memories and creating new experiences ^_^

  68. International act: the kooks
Local acts: majozi, grassy sparks, the December streets, touch wood, thor rixon

Favourite #RTD moment was in 2012 when I got to watch the Kongos. They are one of my favourite South African bands and that was one of there last shows played in SA before going overseas. They now play at some of the biggest music festivals overseas so I feel super priveledged to have got to see them in their and my home country!

  69. MILKY CHANCE!!!!!!
SO AMPED to see The Rudimentals, Grassy Sparks, Bed on Bricks and Jack Parow!!!
I’ve never been to RTD but I have been threatened, warned and cajoled for many years by my bro who is a regular!!!! I SOOOO HAVE TO GO THIS YEAR.

  70. International:
    The Cat Empire, obviously!
    Local:
    Felix Laband (my actual religion)
Hog Hoggidy Hog tribute (if it’s anything like their birthday tribute show it’ll be an incredibly special way to honour George)
The Rudimentals (those guys just get tighter as the years go by)
Alice Phoebe Louw (that girl, yoh!)

As for a favourite #RTD moment… That’s no small task, looking back over the years I’m reminded of just how many golden moments that farm in Darling has treated me to… Most of all it’s been a meeting space for my best friend and I, over all the years we’ve been apart (first because of different universities, then because of travel, and now because we’re living and working in different cities). Somehow we’ve always managed to find ourselves together at Daisies, and it’s been glorious.
One year in particular we had enjoyed an epic day in the sun and moseyed on over to the dam for a sunset drink. It was beautiful; pink and orange sky, ice cold drinks in hand, music in the background, ankle deep in water, best friend by my side, and not a person in sight…. Wait. It’s sunset at the dam, where is everyone?! We finished our drinks and headed off to find the rest of our crew, and were met by hysterics upon expressing our confusion at the quietness we’d just experienced. It turned out that we had somehow missed the announcements that someone had managed to contaminate the dam with poorly controlled bowel movements, and everyone else had opted out of sharing their sundowners with some rouge turd. Certainly not our finest moment, but without a doubt one of the most memorable!

  71. The Cat Empire

My best memory was relaxing in the dam at last years Daisies listening to some sick beats from the Beach Bar.

  72. Milky Chance, Al Bairre, Grassy Sparks, HAEZER, Niskerone.
My favourite memory would be carrying all of our luggage by putting it on a matress and dragging it through the line. and swimming in the dam on the hottest day I’ve ever experienced in October even though I had German Measles. #RTD

    Local Acts:
    *Jeremy Loops
    *Bongeziwe Mabandla
    *The brother moves on
    *Aking

    FAVOURITE #RTDmoment:
The hype of getting everyone on the same mood with just pure good music! The night lights, capturing the special moments with my camera (avid photographer), it’s always beautiful to watch people lose themselves in music, capturing moments at their most happiest, without worrying about being judged. The unity, the love, and the other in-betweens, that can only be understandable if you are physically there.

  81. The international act I am most excited to see,
Milky Chance it would have to be.
From the long list of impressive local acts,
I’m most keen for Jeremy Loops, Alice Phoebe Lou and PHFat!
RTD has given me many memories that I will always treasure,
Amazing times that will be with me forever.
    From seeing Alt-j
    to dancing night and day,
I look forward to making RTD 2015 the best yet!

  82. (enter the entire RTD line up here)
But seriously, if i had to choose two. It would for sure be The Cat Empire (because YES. all the YES. and all the wine) and for the local act, Al Bairre.
So although my choices may not be the most obscure or interesting, they are sure to guarantee a good, no, GREAT time. One most certainly for the books.
My favorite RTD moment you ask?
Well although ive had many fantastic memories the past few years, im going to be cheesy here (bear with me) and say my favorite moment is yet to happen. So bring on RTD2015. all the fingers and all the toes are crossed for this one!

  87. The Kooks
    Al Bairre
    Jeremy Loops
    Go Barefoot
    The Rudimentals
My favourite RTD moment was last year when MGMT played Kids, the atmosphere of the crowd was just awe-inspiring. I’m hoping that this year’s acts can reach that same level.

I’m gonna tell me flippen kids about that day.. and every other daisies memory (that I remember)

  90. M I L K Y C H A N C E !!

    And Ofcourse:

    The Cat Empire

    Local Acts:

    Al Bairre

The year was 2012, Bloc Party was the lead act. I had to check that fact – such was the rave in the cave.

We waited in the queue, till our faces were blue, but once we were through, the scenes were too good to be true.

Iso killed it and the KONGOS filled it. Then Jeremy Loops stepped up, and stepped again, till our tequila tasted like fruits.

Time for some electro, none for a ho. We got mashed and thrashed while the evening kept disappearing in a flash. Now where the f@ck are we going to crash?

The tent was an after thought. I’m not even sure it’s something we brought.

I slept on the floor outside somebody’s door. What a chore.

The 7am sun was hot. My stomach was a rot. I needed a shot.

There was the distinct twang of dope in the air; I thought this is my kind of fair. It could have been Kreg, so maybe he’ll pass the dutchie if I dared to beg.

I heard a laugh and another laugh and soon I’d forgotten my need for a bath. From one camp to the next, I thought, “Hey where the hell is my brother Lex? “Along, the second row of trees.” I remembering him saying. I started praying. At a festival a brother is as good as a mother.

I spent 10 minutes looking and out of the blue, there he was, as he does, just chilling with his crew. My day was made. My brother made a great save.

We shared a toke, a broment (a special moment shared between brothers) and I was no longer broke and to this day that was my ultimate Rocking the Daisies moment.

My brother is flying home from Thailand this year to watch The Cat Empire. Now, listen, I’m not a crier. But please A Red-E Powerbank and MyCityByNight, gimme THE RIGHT TO PARTY with my sibling, the ticket prices are crippling!

  93. The Cat Empire.
Aking, FOKOFFPOLISIEKAR, 7th Son & Jeremy Loops.

And my favourite moment of ever was during RTD 2013 after all the music had stopped for the night and all the food stalls were closed, there was one spot near the campsite selling boerie rolls, and me and a friend exhausted from the whole weekend just sat there on a bench eating the biggest bacon egg mushroom and boerie roll I have ever seen, saying not a word because it was 4am and we were dead but satisfied. BTW The Hives and Alt-J killed it that year. Here we come #RTD2015

  94. THE KOOKS. JEREMY LOOPS. AKING. GRASSY SPARK. THE RUDIMENTALS. That feeling you get driving up to Darling – anticipation, excitement, nerves (the good kind).

Your car is full – friends, tents, Padkos , a cooler box with your favourite beer.

Seeing the RTD directional signs makes your stomach flutter.

As you pull into the Cloof Wine Estate you roll down your window and breathe in the festival air. You’ve arrived. Let the Mayhem begin!

  95. The international act I’m most excited to see is Milky Chance – I’m sure they will provide such a happy vibe at the festival. The 4 local acts I’m most excited to see are Jeremy Loops (his looping skills have me in awe every single time), Bed On Bricks (these okes are legends), Majozi (this new kid on the block has some serious talent and I haven’t seen him live before) and Jack Parow (we all need to get our gangsta zef on now and then, right?).

My fav #RTD moment will have to be at the 2013 festival, when Skin from Skunk Anansie managed to get the entire crowd down to the ground. What a powerful and uniting musical moment! 🙂

  96. – The Kooks
    – Grassy Sparks
    – Al Bairre
    – Jeremy Loops
    – PH Fat

Favourite #RTD moment has to be working the Brutal Fruit private girls’ bathroom.. Weirdest experience ever, going full on concentration camp style, shouting at girls to only shower for five minutes – as you can imagine the kind of people who SHOWER at a FESTIVAL need waaay more than five minutes. I was hit with a bra on more than one occasion and saw more naked women than anyone else at the festival.. Trust me, not as fun as it sounds. It sucked.
Crazy at the time, but hilarious to look back on x

  97. Scuba

    Shortstraw
    JakobSnake
    DJ Mighty (Mabu Vinyl represent!)
    Grassy Spark

    ——–

Favourite moment is when, after losing all my mates right before The Hives’ set I managed to find myself dead center of the crowd surrounded by people who had lost their mates.

I’d never had a more fun time than I did jamming to their intense performance than I did with those strangers who without saying a word were like my closest friends. To put it in the most soppy way RtD will always have my heart for that experience which I find it hard to replicate at other festivals.

    So yeah.

  98. 1. International Act I’d most like to see:
    Milky Chance

Four South African acts I’m most excited about:
    1. Bongeziwe Mabandla (He blew my mind when he opened for George Ezra)
    2. Majozi
    3. Touchwood
    4. Grassy Sparks

Ahhhh it is so difficult to pick a favourite moment from Rocking the Daisies, there really are so many! My favourite moments are hanging out in the dam with a drink in hand, listening to some stomach cramp inducing comedy in the Lemon Tree Tent and going wild in Electronic dome.
I think that hearing Stolen Dance live this year will supersede all other moments!

It was Rocking The Daisies 2008; the first year where an international act was performing at Rocking The Daisies. Eagle Eye Cherry. Although I wasn’t necessarily a fan, like most people I knew the chorus to ‘Save Tonight’. That being said, it was still a great step up for outdoor festivals and the concept of an international act performing was endearing although the plan was to go in any case as the previous year had been so great! My girlfriend at the time and I were fortunate enough to have backstage passes but for Eagle Eye’s set, nobody was allowed backstage and this was fine as we planned to watch in any case!

Shortly after his set, the girlfriend needed the toilet and the nearest toilet was backstage. We happily went but upon reaching the toilet, the girl’s room was a warzone. I suggested she uses the men’s toilet and offered to stand guard and she agreed. I got slightly distracted with the sights and sounds and when I looked back a man was hastily approaching the bathroom. I basically ran and borderline tackled the man just before he reached the door. To my shock when the man turned around, it was none other than Eagle Eye.

After explaining to him the story (and my girlfriend leaving the bathroom, also completely shocked) and although I’m quite sure that he really needed the bathroom at the rate he was heading there, he still gave an extra moment to pose for a picture with me and while this was happening another guy took his spot in the bathroom (judging by the rate he was going towards the bathroom he was pretty desperate).

This is one of many amazing stories that I have from Rocking The Daisies and I hope to make many more!

Besides the mind blowing mess that is the biggest music event on the calendar for me, but remembering how The Daisies came to a standstill when the Springboks played The All Blacks and beat them, the entire festival cheered them on in Unity. That made this festival so special to me, I would love to win a double ticket and attend again this year.

One of my most distinct daisies memories; rewind back to 2012. Beer pong and truth or dare on Thursday night, and absolute racous start. Watching someone get absolutely annihilated over a 2L bottle of lemonade (which I think my friend and I accidentally took) and of course, not sleeping and partying the night away in the electro tent ( Goldfish were trouble that year)

Please let me win this awesome prize and make new memories this year at RTD 2015!!!!

  110. OMWord, i have soo many favourite moments but my uttermost best was probably when I got caught up in the middle of a rush towards the front of the Mainstay Beach Bar Stage and ended up literally RIGHT up in the front with Goldfish jamming the decks. I lost my whole crew but made some new friends in the front, one of who gave me their papsak of rooi wyn and all I can say is I was completely living the dream in that moment. Ill never forget it!
I’m supper stoked to see local acts: 7th Son, Tommy gun, Jeremy Loops and Hog Hoggidy Hog and the international act: Milky Chance as well as to find some new gems to listen out for in the future!

Very excited about all the internationals but im defs gonna have the most fun with THOMAS JACK at the beach bar!

  121. I’d love to see The Kooks, Alice Phoebe Lou, L.H.O, Strange Loving & Lady M
My FAVORITE #RTD moment has to be when the heavens opened up during Bloc Party’s last few tracks at Rocking the Daisies 2012 & the whole crowd started singing in the rain. The Main Stage was a beautiful site right there & then!

This can’t be placed into a photograph but it’s a memory I share with the most incredible friends while going through the toughest time in my life. My heartache disappeared when I woke up on Sunday with the sun shining, it was so warm it instantly lifted the mood, but then the music at the beach bar started and I had all these smiling faces around me. I can never forget the amazing music which made me boogie all day long, the new friends I made and the connections I had with all of them. I fell in love with life at the beach bar.

Life from that Sunday morning was just beautiful and I would love to have it all over again.

    X 🙂 X
#RTD hope I’m not too late for this

  126. Milky Chance, 340million, James Copeland, Haezer, Jeremy Loops.

Favourite moment at Daisies was the look on Kregs face when finding out about the Hermanus scandal. Thank and witnessing 17000 fans bek still after MGMT’s first 3 tracks hahaha..

  127. Milky Chance
    Jeremy loops
    Haezer
    Al Bairre

Best #RTD memories would have to be attempting to sneak in to see Skunk Anansie as tickets sold out!! After rolling under cars, jumping fences, climbing barbed wire, sneaking into the wrong area and being thwarted by security…all I had to do was walk through the front gate…I was determined to see Skunk Anansie!!! Just before they came on stage , Lucky for methe whole main floor emptied as 90% of the party goers didn’t know who they were. I got to watch a bucket list performance by Skunk Anasie at an arms length without being crowded. A memory I will never forget

  128. My favourite RTD moment hasn’t happened yet! I’m geared and ready for it though, just give me the chance, fuck, summers finally back and its good to be back on the outdoor dancefloor again, I’ve never been, & this year looks like it’ll be the one making history for a massive step up of what we’re all used to!! OH…& I’ll gladly give you a power bank if you gave me the prize :)))

My favourite #RTD moment is while MGMT was playing last year. The only way to describe it is .. It felt like we experience our WOODSTOCK 😉

Local : Jeremy Loop with all his loops
The rudimentals for some local modern reggae
    Niskerone because WHEN LAST?
Dane Stirrat – most recent local music interest.

Favorite memory : one of the clearest memories I still have to this day is standing on the main stage dance floor last year with my man and our best friends , in a circle , beanies, oversized hoodies and MGMT opening . Surrounded by old school electric music girls in diaper shorts and crop tops – we convinced ourselves we had travelled back to the 60s and taken the Cape Town crowd with us. Triangles, rainbows and mad visuals had us standing there as if we had just climbed off our time machine.
WE WENT BACK TO THE 60’s.

  136. PORTER ROBINSON LIVE
    HAEZER
    Sibot & Toyota
    PHfat
    Niskerone

Favorite RTD moment would be winning these tickets, and actually attending RTD… I live in Johannesburg, and cannot afford to attend the event. Winning would bring tears to my eyes, because I look up to Porter Robinson, the very first electronic artist I listened to. His work is magical! Myself and my girlfriend are huge fans of all the internationals, and have never been to a RTD before. Help us create a RTD moment, and we’ll love you forever MCBN <3

Please please please!!!!!!!
