WhatsApp currently has a new feature in beta that would block users from taking screenshots in the app. The company already has end-to-end encryption protecting our chats and this new feature they’re testing could further help privatise our conversations.
That’s not all, WhatsApp will also zone in on ‘local security’ now, giving the user the option to ‘lock’ their WhatsApp app by adding a password or fingerprint authentification prompt. The new update will also feature an ‘auto-lock’ after a certain time has lapsed, locking your app when you forget to.
These new features are currently only in beta and have not officially been confirmed for release yet.
