Weekend sports round up

Wow now that wasn’t the best weekend for South African sports. Beaten by the French 20 – 13 and getting smashed by the English in the 20/20 game on Friday although in the second game on Sunday we did crush them by 84 runs. Bafana Bafana held Japan to a one all draw, so that’s a good sign I guess. I think besides that SHOCKING anthem sung by what looked a French Rastafarian, the French used brute force to dominate the Bokke up front, with both Bakkies and Victor Matfield being side lined for stitches and blood replacements within the first 15 minutes it looked like were never completely in the game. I did feel like we were robbed with that try that they scored, as number 7 Harinordiquay was clearly in front of the kicker, and disturbed Kankowski under the high ball, leading him to knock it on and allowing the French to turn it over, scoring a try in the corner.

As for the cricket on Friday, I gave up watching after watching the English batsman destroy our bowlers. I could definitely say that wasn’t their finest bowling display in a while. They are going to have to sort something out soon before the ODI’s. I didn’t end up watching us bat as I was over it already. I knew we were in for a hiding unless something magical happened, which it didn’t, not even the Duckworth Lewis Method could’ve help us. Sunday’s game did show a little more promise with Loots Bosman and Greame Smith reaching a record high 170 first weekend partnership, allowing South Africa to reach a massive 241 in 20 overs. We smashed the English in the end with their two highest scores being non other than South African born Kevin Pieterson and Johnathan Trott

With the Springbok Dirt Trackers playing tomorrow at the Wembley Stadium in London, a win is a MUST! With an all-new Cheetah’s front row, I think its safe to say that Pieter De Villiers has bulked the side up that is to meet with Saracens tomorrow. Kick-off is at 19.45. Keep an eye on Earl “the pearl” Rose as Pieter De Villiers is saying that he is ready to make a step up to International level, who is he kidding? Do keep your eye on young centre Juan De Jongh, who is going to be a Springbok in my mind.

Please follow the link below if you would like to see how terribly that guy sang our national anthem before the game against France.

South African National Anthem terribly sung by French Rastafarian.

Rumoured to have the blue-prints for Krang's TechnoDrome, stolen straight from Dimension X, he’s the type of guy who exudes so much coolness that he adds whole countries on Facebook at one time instead of just people. Always up for a party and a Tequila shot or two this is the guy who we always call first, both before and after a night out…
