Weed Stocks Spike As Coca-Cola & Aurora Cannabis Discuss A Marijuana-Infused Beverage.

Coca-Cola has a keen eye on the legal weed industry with reports stating the beverage conglomerate is apparently considering a launching a range of drinks infused with CBD – the non-psychoactive compound found in the plant.

Marijuana stocks sky-rocketed on Monday when new reports that Coca-Cola and Aurora Cannabis [a Canadian cultivator] had begun discussions to develop the brew. This is the third mega beverage company that has shown interest in the pot industry recently. Corona upped its bet on the industry last month, announcing an additional $4 billion stake in Canopy Growth while Molson Coors, too, announced in August that its Canadian unit is entering into a deal that will develop cannabis-infused beverages.

The legal marijuana market has the potential to be the largest in the world, bigger than soda and even booze with the young green industry already putting pressure on alcohol sales. It only makes sense to join ’em if you can’t beat ’em.
