Watch the rise and fall of a digital drug empire and its founder in new film ‘Silk Road’

This week will see the official release of the much-anticipated movie Silk Road. The film is based on a 2014 Rolling Stone article about the founder of the illicit online marketplace, Ross Ulbricht.

“Young, idealistic and driven to succeed, Ulbricht creates Silk Road, the internet’s first unregulated marketplace. When the site becomes a multimillion-dollar pipeline for illicit drugs, he draws the attention of Rick Bowden, a dangerously unpredictable DEA agent nicknamed the “Jurassic Narc,” who uses any means necessary to take Ulbricht down.”

Written and directed by Tiller Russell, Silk Road stars Jason Clarke, Nick Robinson, Katie Aselton, Jimmi Simpson, Daniel David Stewart, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Lexi Rabe, Will Ropp, Paul Walter Hauser and Alexandra Shipp.
