Last year it was announced that Stephen King‘s classic horror film, The Shining would finally be getting a cinematic take on the sequel book to The Shining titled ‘Doctor Sleep‘ which was written by King back in 2013. The film is set to star Ewan McGregor, and now almost twelve months later, we finally get a first glimpse of ‘Doctor Sleep‘ with the first official trailer released this week.

Doctor Sleep is a 2013 horror novel by American writer Stephen King and the sequel to his 1977 novel The Shining. The book reached the first position on The New York Times Best Seller list for print and ebook fiction. hardcover fiction, and ebook fiction. Doctor Sleep won the 2013 Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel.

Doctor Sleep tells the story of a now grown Dan Torrance who is struggling with alcoholism and remains traumatized by the sinister events that occurred at the Overlook Hotel [in The Shining] when he was a child. His hope for a peaceful existence soon becomes shattered when he meets Abra [Kyliegh Curran], a teen who shares his extrasensory gift of the “shine.”
