Aux Womdantso is quick becoming a household name in the South Africa music scene, bringing his infectious sound of Gqom to dance floor around the country. For the people who didn’t know him before Boiler Room x Ballantine’s True Music, sure know the name now.
Aux was placed on a very strong local Hip Hop line where he was closing off proceedings, the only variation to the genres on the line up. We spoke beforehand and he was a little nervous about his sound being played to a Hip Hop orientated crowd, but once he took to the decks, that changed very quickly. He quickly morphed into a confident and energetic figure, making the crowd eat out the palm of his hand, it was incredible to watch how the mood changed in an instant.
Between Youngsta and Aux, it’s tough to say who was our favourite set on the night, but watch this exclusive mix and judge for yourself…
Well done once again to Boiler Room for continually sourcing, showing and bringing Cape Town talent to a global stage. It’s a pleasure being a part of these Boiler Room x Ballantine’s True Music Africa series
