In the build up to South Africa’s 2011 municpal elections, our President Jacob Zuma has been causing a bit a fuss over a comment that he made about the ANC and automatic entry into Heaven Gates during a voter registration drive in Mthatha on Saturday.
According to a Democratic Alliance transcript this is what JZ had to say over the weekend:
“When you vote for the ANC, you are also choosing to go to heaven. When you don’t vote for the ANC you should know that you are choosing that man who carries a fork… who cooks people.”
“When you are carrying an ANC membership card, you are blessed. When you get up there, there are different cards used but when you have an ANC card, you will be let through to go to heaven.”
The DA, IFP and Christian Democratic Party called for an immediate apology… Eish.
If not a visionary at least our President has got some skills behind a mic- well capable of keeping us more entertained than most of our local comedians. Sick.
Admittedly not the best thing he could have ahead of this year’s State of the Nation Address, which concerns the current economic and political well-being of South Africa. This year’s State of the Nation Address is the first time that Social Media platforms like Twitter and Facebook have been used to gather ideas for the Prez to cover during this fairly monumental speech… I wonder if he’s going to apologise (wishful thinking I guess haha).
