Sometimes things are just so kak that you need to have a bit of a laugh, which is what 8 Morrison St is aiming to do with their event Urban Comedy Revival featuring one of our favourite comedians in the first week of December.

Headlining the show is GLEN BO (JHB) who has performed all over RSA, England, Scotland, Wales and toured hard for 5 years overseas. He worked the UK comedy scene for five years before returning to KZN where he was instrumental in developing the local comedy scene. He recently was featured on #ComicsCorner on Comedy Central and recieved over 16000 views in 24 hours. In November 2015 he debuted as a boxer in #ComedyBoxing in JHB. Outspoken, surreal and unique, Bo’s comedy style has been honed perforning across clubs, corporaes, festivals and internationally.

To keep with the theme of (JHB) based comedians, following Glen they have SUHAYL ESSA a medical student with a funny bone who has made his mark on stages such as The Space Theatre, The Box (Pop Art Theatre) with Goliath and Goliath, Acoustic Cafe and Parkers Comedy Club to name a few. Since then he has performed across stages across South Africa. Suhayl was a semi finalist in the Parkers comedy contest “Comi-Kaze” which placed him in the “2015 Comedy Central Live presents” competition.

Next up is KARMEN NAIDOO (JHB) a mechanical engineer by day, comedy queen by night. This lady started up “Indi Comedy” which is a highly successful platform for comics to perfect the craft in JHB. She tore down the house last year at The Savanna Newcomers Showcase at the Soweto Theatre, so with a casual 60+ performances on stage, you know you’re in for a good thing.

Next it’s LIAM E. JOHNS (DBN). With years of experience in the comedy scene, this man is no stranger to making even the most cynical of humans cry with laughter.

To mix in our local flavour, welcome DYLAN SHAWN, a reformed Brighton Beach (Bluff, not England) relationship expert. Be sure to listen intently to his relatable life situations/advice/do’s and don’ts and how to ‘adult’ in the tumultuous times we are living in.

Last but not least, BEACH BODY. Durban’s most colourful comedian. This guy is endlessly unique, always pulling out brand new material from his observations and perspectives of everyday life.

R50 gets you in. Doors open at 18:00, the pods will be open for your retail pleasure as well, as some sweet tunes until the show starts at 20:00.
