UPPERCUT | 22 May | DJ Low | Fletcher | Mix n Blend

This week we bring you some of the forerunners of the Cape Town electronic music scene. Expect laid back hip hop electronica, deep bass dub styles, and a mix of everything else to keep you moving.

R30 gets you in before 10pm. R40 after.

The alter ego of Ivan of Killer Robot, DJ Low is the more mellow counterpart. With a focus on the low end of things, his style varies from chill bass-focused beats to instrumental hip hop vibes, and sprinklings of dub and trip hop.

The big daddy of bass in Cape Town. He moved from the jungle beats of Krushed and Sorted, to a focus on heavy dubwise sounds and riddims. His sets at Uppercut are rare and cherished. You don’t want to miss it.

A firm party favourite, these guys can play just about anything, and probably will. Expect the best in hip hop, breaks, drum n bass, swing, funk, dancehall. Really, they play the best of everything.
