This news just in- the fantastically awesome micro-blogging website Twitter announced yesterday that it will now link the service with Apple Inc’s relatively new and locally un-explored new music-oriented social network by the name of PING.
The PING music social network was launched in September and works within Apple’s iTunes music programme and allows its users to follow artists and recommend songs that they dig to their circle of friends on the network.
What this means for me and you is that we will be able to now connect our Twitter accounts to our PING account, thereby allowing us to add song previews and links to buy music from the iTunes store directly into tweets.
The new deal with Apple comes hot on the heals after Twitter attempted to set up a partnership with the social network leader Facebook (over 500 million users) and failed. Sorry for you Facebook!
