South Africa has the 2nd highest youth unemployment rate in the world. To work towards combatting this, Trusted Interns is calling on South African businesses to help #ShiftTomorrow. One intern at a time.
Every year, thousands of graduates enter the job market, to find that their voices aren’t heard and that finding work is harder than what many people admit – at school or tertiary level. This year, Trusted Interns, along with their partners, are kicking off 2019 by giving away over half a million, yes R500,000 rand’s worth of internships, self-improvement and development opportunities to young South Africans.
Trusted Interns is a platform that is transforming SA by connecting business-ready graduates to companies who need them. While they run throughout the year, they’ve started 2019 off by partnering with brands such as Varsity Vibe, HeavyChef, BizCommunity, DIYMYCV, Student Brands and evan.co.za to pull together over R500 000 worth of career development opportunities, such as workshop tickets, online portfolios and career coaching sessions. This also includes 52 short courses from Red & Yellow Creative School of Business, IMM Graduate School and Educate24. All designed to properly equip the young professional.
For a chance to win an education and development prize, all aspiring professionals have to do is sign up on www.trustedinterns.co.za between the 14th and 31st of January. For every friend they get to sign up too, they get an extra entry into the draw – just like that.
To qualify for an internship entry, the graduates need to take the next step and complete their Trusted Interns profile. It takes 15 minutes and is designed to ensure that both the company and intern are a perfect match.
Businesses who are not already registered with Trusted Interns but are dedicated to Shifting Tomorrow are encouraged to join brands such as FoodBlog SA, Fives Futbol, Locumbase and Colourworks to make a difference during the campaign period (14 – 31 Jan). Looking for an intern? Allow the Trusted Interns team to find the perfect addition to your company, just as they’re doing for Involved Digital, Luks Brands and Red & Yellow to name a few. Hundreds of interns are screened and only the ones who prove to be a suitable match, based on specifications from both the intern and employer, will be presented. Saving brands time and resources. By doing this, they not only get a head-start on that 2019 to-do-list but also contribute to the much-needed growth in the youth unemployment sector.
Every graduate who is placed with the hand-picked #ShiftTomorrow employer partners will also be made business-ready, as they’ll win a spot in the “Entrepreneurship in Action Short Course” at the Red & Yellow Creative School of Business, worth R13,500.
As South Africans, we can all make a difference and shape the future we want for our country. This is just one way of mobilising our collective power, to literally #ShiftTomorrow. We hope you’ll come on board.
