Amstel Golden Hour is back this year at the Moretele Park for a little spring-time tribute concert on Saturday, September 3rd, 2011. Last year the Amstel Golden Hour featured the very talented Lira and this year it’s the turn of the renowned guitarist and vocalist Selaelo Selota to give fans a golden performance.
He’s going to be sharing the Moretele Park stage with a range of musical luminaries – amongst them Don Laka, Hugh Masekela, Zakes Bantwini, Lira, Simphiwe Dana, Jimmy Dludlu, Professor and Judith Sephuma. Yup, that’s an absolutely stellar line-up!
“I’m so glad to be performing amongst my peers, as well as artists I’ve admired for years.” said Selota. – “The Moretele Park Tribute Concert is well known as the headquarters of amazing musical performances – people come to this show with great expectations, and I plan to represent! ”
It’s so amazing to think that his entry into the industry was as a cleaner at jazz venue Kippies where he used the opportunity to watch the country’s best at work, and form meaningful relationships with South Africa’s premiere jazz artists. I really love stories like this!!
The Moretele Park Tribute Concert will take place on Saturday, 03 Sept 2011 at Moretele Park, Mamelodi .
Tickets are available from Computicket at R230. Gates open at 10:00am.
