Nitro Circus completely captivated and blew the minds of South Africans back 2014 with their live extreme sports extravaganza. There was only one thing missing, the motorsports legend and Nitro Circus co-founder Travis Pastrana. Well, that’s all about to change this October as the man himself joins his internationally acclaimed crew to ride SA for the first time ever.
Rumour has it that local audiences will get to experience an all-new show, packed with never before seen stunts like the 120-ft barge to barge backflip jump successfully landed by Pastrana earlier this month over the Thames in London. This stunt has been attempted before in 2006 by rider Mike Metzger, who ultimately took a hard fall fracturing his L-4 vertebra. While he made a full recovery, the stunt has never been attempted again until this year by Pastrana who absolutely nailed it. Adding to Travis’s already grand list of accomplishments, his mind-blowing, world-first feat will be featured in next year’s edition of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!
You may wonder why Pastrana, a global sports icon with more world firsts and trophies than he can count still continues to chase risks, putting everything on the line? Well according to him progression is everything, “Living means taking risks,” Pastrana explained. “If you have a goal you want to reach or something you want to achieve, first you have to be willing to push it, get outside of your comfort zone and then totally send it”
Fans across South Africa are swooning to watch their idol in action this month and Pastrana himself couldn’t be happier to be alongside his family and crew – Nitro Circus. Check out his personal message to you all below as well as his epic, world-first barge to barge jump.
Be sure to get booking kids – this show is guaranteed, without a doubt, to sell out!
