Trailer | ‘The Wretched’ – the eerie Goosebumps-style horror for adults premiers next month

Set to premiere next month, ‘The Wretched’ has already recieved raging reviews from critics across the board with Variety dubbing it “playfully Hitchcockian” and Rotten Tomatoes scoring it at 93%. Critics on the platform are calling it a “polished feature”, with one review saying the film’s “style harkens back to the late ’90s / early 2000s horror that revels in moments of corny, deranged, gleefully freaky fun, like a Goosebumps episode for adults.”

‘The Wretched’ is directed by Brett Pierce and Drew T. Pierce and follows a defiant teenage boy, Ben, struggling with his parent’s imminent divorce. Ben is sent to live with his father for the summer but idyllic tourist town offers little solace for him as he is forced to deal with the local, privileged teens and his father’s new girlfriend.
