Top 25 South African Womxn Artists

Your captain has returned after three years with another segment of “The List”. It was time we look at the journey of the womxn in South Africa, both those who have cemented their place and those still working their way up.

The focus has shifted, shining the light on artists and producers who have what it takes to influence the audience around them. To us, it’s not only about the number of plays and likes – but it’s also about the impact these artists are making.

Side Note: These selections were made purely based on our subjective assessment of originality and presence and understand the significance of other entities meeting the criteria (which we would love to know about). With that being said here is the checklist followed: Any genre, DJ/Producer, known as an SA artist or export.
