Smalltown Beat was born through a culmination of experiences in Cape Town and abroad which influenced the way in which the local electronic music scene is perceived as well as the festivals surrounding it. Thirteen creative collectives including; Arkology,Blue Room, Bridges for Music, Champagne, Database, IAS, Live Lounge, Mouth2Mouth, Paradise City, Suidtronica, Sunlit Souls, SWIM, The Deep End will come together to create an inclusive and freely expressive experience for all.
The festival will take place on the first weekend of October from the 5th-7th near the picturesque town of Stanford at Rivers End Farm – which boasts an untouched hidden beauty unlike anything we’ve seen before. The venue is perfect for enjoying the music, art or lounging around on the lawn next to the river – and you can bring as much booze to your campsite as you like 😉
Smalltown Beat aims to bring together like-minded who celebrate the ethos of electronic music and the culture that surrounds it. The event will be an annual celebration where these creatives and artists can come together and showcase what they’ve been working on, share their knowledge with others and in turn grow the movement.
Smalltown Beat promises to be an experience that will tickle your senses – that’ll have you moving, questioning and most importantly enjoying yourself to the fullest. This is an opportunity for the chosen collectives to present their vision on a platform not often accessible to them. They will be involved in almost every aspect of the festival – from stage design, to line up curation, installation, development and art exhibitions and more.
Above and beyond all the incredible creative collaborations happening, the event organiser will also be smashing out one impressively groovly lineup along with an array of interactive activities. Check out who’s playing below and what else is in store. For more information, join the event wall and follow their fan page or simply get to it and book your tickets right here.

“Thirteen collectives forming a heart that beats strongly within Cape Town. All from different walks of life but with a collective consciousness that drives them. A vision untainted by everyday society. Staying true to who they are and what they do. Some you may know, some you may not. A sense of community rather than a group of individuals is what we’re striving for. ” – Smalltown Beat 2018
