Last weekend I popped down to the Taste at Simon’s on the Groot Constantia winelands. I was truly blown away by this new market and the innovative nature it strives to achieve. Their main aim is to celebrate great fine dining food. There main difference is their aim to challenge and be different to the influx of market type environments.
One of the things I loved most was the location, it’s situated in the heart of Cape Town upon the oldest wine farm in Groot Constantia. This means you’ll be surrounded by the beauty of the landscape while you enjoy the many tastes, wines, family picnics and other treats on offer at Taste of Simon’s.
You’ll have 25 different food & wine stalls on offer to enjoy on a sunny day out with your family, friends and your dogs. Award winning chefs, premium fine dining tastings, wine tastings and picnic baskets which can pre-ordered are all at your disposal. There’s something for everyone no matter what your preference may be. One visit will always be different to the next which makes me a happy man. The more food I can try, the better. And let me tell you, the cashless system is quick and easy.
Their chefs work closely with the local producers to ensure that your taste buds will experience food and wine that that comes from a place that celebrates the passion we all have for the finer things in life.
Fresh concepts, passionate food creators, the promotion of smaller businesses and the support of underprivileged talent is our mantra.
The Taste at Simon’s will operate during the following hours:
Saturdays and Sundays 10H00 – 16H00.
