A new startup founded by 21-year-old Mvelo Hlophe and his friend Thandolwethu Hlongwane is offering everyone the chance to learn how to code, for free. Hlophe, who is in his final year at UCT created an app called Zaio, which comes from the Nguni word ‘Okuzayo’ meaning ‘Future,’ as Business Insider SA reports.

Zaio is a free learning platform which teaches users how to code and become developers. The platform offers users four levels of training from introduction right through the various elements of coding and web development and finally, practical tasks where learners get to work on real-life projects with South African companies and get paid.

So far the platform has over 1000 active learners. For more information, check Zaio out on Facebook and visit their website to get started today.
