The Miller Dark Horse Exodus to the 2011 Vodacom Durban July

As of about 07h30 this morning 35 lucky party-goers who had made their way through an extensive, multi-platform print, broadcast, online and social media campaign– together with their partners – are travelling from Johannesburg to Durban on one of three, pimped-out Miller Dark Horse Exodus party buses making their way down to the Miller Dark Horse Marquee Powered by 5FM at this year’s Vodacom Durban July.
During the month of June, 5FM listeners were given the opportunity to enter an online Miller Dark Horse Exodus competition in an effort to win a coveted double ticket on one of the party buses. Entrants were directed to the Miller SA website ( and had to decipher clues via Facebook and Twitter, which – once solved – earned them points on a virtual horse racing leader board. Those with the highest amount of points were awarded the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of taking part in the Miller Dark Horse Exodus as well as automatically qualifying for two nights’ rock-star accommodation in Durban, two VIP tickets to the Miller Dark Horse Marquee Powered by 5FM as well as return flights and transfers.
I’ve been on one these buses and they come complete with rave lights and stripper poles- it’s going to get rowdy. Travelling in convoy and also covering the approximate 600km over an eight-hour period together with the buses – will be six MINI Coopers. The buses and cars will be making a few pits stops along the way to fuel up and pick up some mystery guests (celebs) – the Miller Dark Horse Exodus promises to be a wicked jol. In fact, for those making their way via the N2 to the Vodacom Durban July – hoot three times when you spot the Miller Dark Horse Exodus and join in the fun! Alternatively, you can show them any part of your body not normal seen by the sun…
The Miller Dark Horse Marquee Powered by 5FM, spanning over 5,000 square metres, this year includes a VIP lounge, a gourmet food court, show-stopping entertainment – including live bands, top-class local DJs, a central dance floor and a host of experimental activities, is definitely the place to be at the 2011 Vodacom Durban July- its gonna cook.
The line-up of DJs at the Miller Dark Horse Marquee Powered by 5FM includes 5FM’s DJ Fresh, Euphonik, Milkshake and Roger Goode and MC’s Grant and Anele. Local artists include 1st Project, Lulo Café, C-Live, Dimplez, George the Beat Boxer, Goodluck and Zakes Bantwini. What’s more, 5FM’s KB and Roger Goode will be broadcasting live from the Miller Marquee Powered by 5FM on Saturday, 2 July between 2 and 5pm and between 7 and 10pm respectively.
There’s also an incredible surprise in store for all those in the marquee after the last race has been run and the sun is about to set but you have to be there to see it for yourself!
For those that are not already in possession of a ticket for the Miller Dark Horse Miller Powered by 5FM, there’s still a chance to win one of five VIP tickets courtesy of 5FM and Miller Genuine Draft. Listen to The Fresh Drive on 5FM between 3 and 7pm later today and you could be a winner.
