Cannabis Expo Dates
The Cannabis Expo takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 28 November to 1 December 2019, and similar to the 1886 Johannesburg gold rush, interest around this dynamic plant is at an all-time high.
After significant events in Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban, The Cannabis Expo has seen rapid growth. Now with over 200 exhibitors representing organisations from across the cannabis industry, visitors and delegates in Sandton will be able to access an entire world of cannabis-related products, services and information under one roof.
The Cannabis Convention Launches
In a first for South Africa, the Sandton expo will also see the launch of The Cannabis Convention. The convention runs alongside The Cannabis Expo where global cannabis experts, industry leaders and government representatives will take part in moderated panel discussions around all aspects of cannabis business, health, regulation and opportunities.
With dedicated meeting and boardrooms, delegate lounges and the main convention hall, The Cannabis Convention provides the perfect platform for widespread integration in the Cannabis industry. In addition to key spaces for delegates to connect and the engaging topics and discussions for them to take part in, the convention will have a dedicated app where delegates can reach out to and set up meetings with all exhibitors, convention speakers as well as cannabis business entrepreneurs, investors and experts.
“The Sandton Convention Centre is about to become the African meeting point for the global cannabis industry,” says event director Silas Howarth. “From a business and regulatory perspective, if you’re in the local cannabis industry, or looking to do cannabis business in Africa, you need to be at The Cannabis Convention.”
What to look out for at the Cannabis Expo
While cannabis is big business, there is also a whole lot of fun to be had at The Cannabis Expo. The Cannabis Food Market makes its Sandton debut over the four days, with a wide range of cannabis extract-infused foods and drinks on offer. The leading chef’s association, Custom Culinary South Africa, has selected a team of specialised chefs to prepare enticing food crafted with cannabis extracts. Visitors can choose from cannabis sushi and mussel pots to avocado cones, chocolates, burgers and pizza slices with a Cannabidoil buzz.
For an extra kick, The Canaberry Vape Lounge at The Cannabis Expo will provide a place to fly high. Set up by Complete Cannabis Solutions, for the first time in South Africa, private, members-only space will be created where those who join as members, will be able to smoke and use cannabis in the private space. Cannabis will not be sold in the private area, but members will have a dedicated area, in the heart of Sandton for personal cannabis use.
The Cannabis Expo and The Cannabis Convention take place from 28 November to 1 December at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. Pre-sale tickets to the expo at R150 and delegate passes to the convention at R950 are now available from Computicket. For more information visit www.thecannabisexpo.co.za
