The 30th of April 2011 marks a very sad day for MyCityByNight and lovers of quality tequila in Cape Town as the legendary Tequila Town pop-up bar closes its doors once and for all.
Many of you might be asking why this is happening considering that February was TT’s (as we affectionately refer to it) busiest month to date. Well have a quick look at the following:
Tequila Town opened on 1st May 2010 especially for the World Cup. Since then Tequila Town has become a much loved Cape Town institution for those in search of the perfect margarita or their large selection of top shelf tequilas. TT was only meant to be open for 3 months but the response from you tequila loving Capetonians and visitors to the most beautiful city on earth was huge.
Some facts and figures for those of you, like us, who have supported Tequila Town:
Since they opened 12 months ago they have:
Shaken over 5,000 margaritas
Poured 43,000 shots of Tequila
Squeezed 8,000 fresh limes
Paid over R600,000 in wages
