Telkom calls on SA filmmakers for its new streaming platform TelkomONE


Telkom is launching a new video service next month called TelkomONE. The new streaming platform will reportedly feature local content, including “mobivelas” and lifestyle shows.

TelkomONE will available online, through the official app and via a streaming box, which allows users to watch online content on TV.

Subscriptions for the service will be sold as a daily, weekly or monthly packages and will also feature a free section with a wide range of TV channels available to customers from most major networks.

The company is looking for South African filmmakers to create videos for the platform. TelkomONE is specifically looking for mobivelas: soap opera-style shows for mobile phones. It also looking to source comedy and lifestyle shows.

Content producers (both amateur and professional) can submit videos/stories. Chosen projects will receive up to R100,000 each to produce their project.

Entrants are required to shoot and submit a maximum of 3 short clips between five to ten minutes) and submit it to before 30 November 2020.
