Teens Using Digital Drugs To Get High

Just when I thought things couldn’t possibly get anymore ridiculous I came across the likes of this little article about kids in the USA (huge surprise right?) are getting high on the “internet” thanks to new mp3’s that induce what can only be described as a state of ecstasy. The huge fear is that this new addiction could act as a gateway drug to other real world narcotics like for teens.

At least, that’s what Oklahoma News 9 reported about a new craze sweeping across the states called “i-dosing,” which involves finding an online dealer who can sort you with “digital drugs” that get you high through your headphones. No “I’m at the stop street cuzi, one minute, one minute” nonsense, this is quick and easy.

A very concerned Mark Woodward (Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs spokesman) had this to say on News 9- “Kids are going to flock to these sites just to see what it is about and it can lead them to other places,”. Wow. Really.

I-dosing apparently involves getting yourself hooked up with a good pair of headphones and listening to mp3’s composed a deep and steady of mostly a droning noise — which the sites peddling the sounds promise will get you high. Teens are listening to such tracks as “Gates of Hades,” which is available on YouTube gratis (yes, that’s right, the first one is always free).

Those who are keen to get addicted to these new “drugs” can purchase mp3s that will purportedly bring about the same effects of marijuana, cocaine, opium and peyote. Don’t worry though, you won’t have to stumble your way through the process like you would with street drugs, as potential digital drug users are advised to buy a 40-page guide so that they learn how to properly get high on MP3s.

I tried this out and I certainly didnt feel high at all but then again I didnt read the 40 page guide.

Just makes me wonder- how will Police know if you’re i-dosing or just listening to Miley Cyrus??! And what the hell happens to you if you happen to pick up a bad batch of mp3’s?? I can see the CSI Miami episodes already…

View the following at your own peril…

Im a guy with a very particular view of life... im not quite sure what that view is just yet, but when I find out I'll be sure to let you know...
