Our guests for this round are……..

★★ Hamza ★★

Hamza began DJing in the early 90’s, as a lover of alternative mixes & B-sides of popular tracks. It’s little wonder that he fell in love with the techno and trance of the day and made it his own. Hamza is still regarded by many as one of the pioneers and innovators of these sounds in Cape Town.

He went on to become a resident at The Gallery in Cape Town in 1999, where he became one of the pioneers of the hard trance scene that exploded in the Mother City. He grew from strength to strength, with his uniquely recognizable sound shaping and educating the dance floor to perfection.

His local tour of duty would last from 1999 to 2005, then he would make his way abroad, where he dropped beats in the Biggest Clubs and radio stations of the period. He then took his talents to the UK in 2005, where he moonlighted with sets at Ministry of Sound, Gigalum, Inigo, Atari Project & the ‘Babies’ outdoor parties.

His love of technology has seen him amalgamate both old & new technology to a point where the contrasting styles converge & blend to touch the cutting edge.

★★ Karlage ★★

Karl Schmidt aka Karlage began his DJing career back in the year 2000 when, after quite a few years frequenting the notoriously popular Hard House; Trance and Drum n Bass clubs of the mid to late 90’s, he knew that the one thing greater than digging holes on a dance-floor was to be rocking it from behind the decks.

Along with a few friends, he then bought a pair of turntables, got to learning the basics and basically spent every cent he earned on vinyl-shopping.

A very enjoyable 5 years of DJing in and around London then ensued from 2001 – 2006 which led to him playing in some of the biggest and best clubs in the U.K. gaining masses of experience along the way. These parties and venues include U4ria, Frantic, Renaissance, The Fridge, Brixton Academy, 414, The Koz, The Soundshaft, Heaven, Wildchild, Koko (Camden Palace at the time), SE1, Byte, Velocity, Turbulence, Heat – playing a range of Techno, House, Trance and Hard House/Crossover (Hard Techno).

These days Karlage is all about the House and Techno sounds and you can keep up to date with his whereabouts and listen to/download latest mixes from this page.

Rumoured to have the blue-prints for Krang's TechnoDrome, stolen straight from Dimension X, he’s the type of guy who exudes so much coolness that he adds whole countries on Facebook at one time instead of just people. Always up for a party and a Tequila shot or two this is the guy who we always call first, both before and after a night out…
