Last month, American airline, United announced they would be launching a Star Wars-themed Boeing 737 in celebration of the release of ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ this December.
The entire vessel has been repainted, featuring imagery of the iconic Star Wars spacecraft, including the X-wing and TIE fighter starships, while the tail end displays coloured lightsabers on a black backdrop on each side. The plane took to the skies on United routes this month, flying across the US, Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean.
The intergalactic theme extends to the interior with decorated headrests sporting ‘the emblems of the Resistance and the First Order’ as well as themed amenity kits and a signature inflight safety video starring characters from the new film. Passengers will also get to enjoy classic Star Wars-themed music as they board the plane and get to interact with a pack of First Order stormtroopers!
The public will also be able to track the plane – so if you aren’t flying, you can still see where the starship is via a special icon on the flight tracking platform ‘FlightAware’. Simply enter the plane number [N36272] and the Star Wars jet will be visible as the X-Wing starship.
