To celebrate its first birthday, local events company Sweet Nothings is hosting an exciting outdoor techno festival at the picturesque Slaley Estate in Stellenbosch on 28 October 2017. Festival-lovers can expect an exceptional outdoor experience, complete with the biggest techno lineup to hit the Western Cape including three renowned Brazilian techno artists, KRAFT, Thayana Valle and Black Jacket, as its headliners.
KRAFT, who will be performing his South African debut at the event, is an electronic music project created by Brazilian producer Paulista Jhonata Frota. Having begun his artistry at the early age of ten, his music has earned him a strong international following and many big names in the industry have performed his tracks.
DJ and producer Thayana Valle’s music has strong classic and vintage elements. She began her deep tech house and techno career in 2006 and her music has gained her international acclaim amongst techno-lovers across the globe.
Black Jacket (AKA Rafael Conde) will undoubtedly bring his differentiated musical talent to the lineup. This Brazilian DJ and producer presents a new concept of techno music that contains his trademark grooves. His work has gained support from large and respected names in the industry and he has performed at a number of major events in his home country.
A selection of local favourites will support the three international headliners. The curated lineup includes Durban-born DJ and producer Mogey, DJ duos Venture and Nordic, Confetti (consisting of well-known DJ Yeti and The Fogshow, who will be playing back-to-back), and Minx.
Only 48km from Cape Town’s city centre, in the idyllic Cape Winelands, Slaley Estate will be completely reimagined into Sweet Nothings’ vibrant new playground, complete with the brand’s signature setup that guests have come to know and love. There will also be a fully-stocked bar, selling ice-cold beverages, and food trucks to keep festival-goers nourished throughout the day.
Gates will open at midday, 12pm, and close 2am. Tickets can be purchased via Nutickets during four phases. These include “The Sweet Deal” at R200 (available until 23 August 2017), “Phase 1” at R250 (available until 13 September 2017), “Phase 2” at R300 (available until 4 October 2017) and “Phase 3” at R350 (until tickets are sold out). Tickets can be purchased at the door for R400, but will be subject to availability. Tickets are limited, so festival-goers are advised to book online.
VIP tables, including six tickets, a bottle of tequila and a bottle of vodka, six beers, six Red Bulls and six other mixers will be available for purchase at R5 000. The package also includes preferential seating near the dance floor and stage and is perfect for a group of friends.
To celebrate its three international headliners, Sweet Nothings will be hosting three competitions leading up to the event (so, keep an eye on their social media pages). For its “KRAFT competition”, Sweet Nothings is giving away a VIP table and private transport to and from the event. For its “Thayana Valle competition”, guests can win a VIP table, and for its “Black Jacket competition”, guests can walk away with a set of double tickets and a weekend stay at the venue’s guest house, along with a meet-and-greet with the artists.
