Suntravolta is Cape Town’s newest coziest beach bar that recently opened at the top of long street, providing Cape Town with a 115 year old Victorian dance floor, that excludes any of the club vibes… Its like dancing in your sexy neighbor’s lounge.
Suntravolta (which means to be overwhelmed by the sun) has teamed up with Cape Town’s freshest lounge house Dj’s to bring you bouncy beats every Friday night from August into summer.
Lounge Music [noun]:
A type of easy listening music popular in the 1950s and 1960s that is meant to evoke in the listeners the feeling of being in a place, usually with a tranquil theme, such as a jungle, an island paradise or outer space.
There are 9 DJ’s that make up the Lounge Sessions residency:
PEACH (Forgotten Culture)
SunChoke (Forgotten Culture)
Nativesound (Forgotten Culture)
Lost in Colours
Every Friday a selection of them enter the lounge with the intention of bringing lounge back into fashion with a slight electro twist as Suntravolta’s existing island feel becomes the perfect lounge environment with the aid of french vocals and sexy baselines whilst staying well away from your typical “club music”
This weeks event sees Earth Sign (True Roots) go head to to head with PEACH (Forgotten Culture). So come on down and see what all the fuss is about, you may just fall in love with the place.
