SPACE TIME CONTINUUM – Rocking the Daisies 2012

Every single time a festival releases their full line-up, my immediate reaction is to print it out (or try mentally remember it) and study each time slot so that I am fully in the know of who is playing when and where! With Rocking the Daisies coming up this weekend, and their reputation for a monster line-up, I knew I had to go through the performers very carefully. I came across something very interesting; a group called Space Time Continuum was sitting as the closing slot of Saturday night/Sunday morning. Now, that slot is usually left up to the big boys to finish up and wind the crowd down, yet keep them bouncing till the darkest, coldest hours of the morning. I wondered how such a relatively unknown name would have bagged that timeslot, and so I did some investigating.

You can imagine my surprise when I found out who Space Time Continuum was: Ivan Turanjanin and Monique Pascall!

Monique, in my eyes, is an absolute machine behind the decks. Her knowledge of techno and her A/V experience combined makes her set a musical journey every single time. Ivan needs no introduction, the partner of Killer Robot and the man who has played at pretty much every single festival in South Africa, twice!

Introducing Space Time Continuum:

Space Time Continuum sees Ivan Turanjanin and Monique Pascall explore the mathematical model that combines space and time into a single continuum.

The live audio visual experience journeys through the three dimensions of space and with the use of syncopated kicks, rolling hi hats and coordinated rhythms, aims to bend the fourth dimension of time.

Rumoured to have the blue-prints for Krang's TechnoDrome, stolen straight from Dimension X, he’s the type of guy who exudes so much coolness that he adds whole countries on Facebook at one time instead of just people. Always up for a party and a Tequila shot or two this is the guy who we always call first, both before and after a night out…

  1. OMFG That set frikken changed my life and restored my faith in Dj-ing. In an age where bands like LFMAO are making it onto our dancefloors *shudder* I was losing all hope for a solid set. This set was the highlight of my RTD. Space continuum are my new GODS.
