The Night Natives are far from your usual side project, featuring two already accomplished musicians in Dale Orchard and Denholm Harding who are producing a sound that can best be described as rock with a electronic music edge. Denholm Harding is a long standing third of Just Jinjer, while Dale Orchard has played bass in Easy Tiger, Plush and Fevertree and together they’re producing something that doesn’t sound like anything they’ve been involved in, in the past.
Dale has the unenviable task of taking on the bass and lead vocals with Denholm on drums and backing vocals. Taking inspiration from the likes of the Deftones, Depeche Mode and Placebo they’re an act, based in Jozi that is capable of making the transition from small underground gigs to the commercial stages with radio rotation.
I’m glad I’ve discovered them and tote them as an act to watch in the next couple of months. To find out more you can reach them at firstname.lastname@example.org, on facebook.com/nightnatives, as well as giving their stuff a listen on Soundcloud.
