SingStar Afrikaanse Treffers

One thing that has always perplexed me is the amount of budget that proprietors of the latest edition of Sokkie Jol Treffers have to spend on television advertising. That stuff is not cheap- which means that there are 100’s of thousands of people who honestly get into their car and bump Steve Hofmeyer. Loud.

Hardly suprising when you look at the newest release for the PS2 and PS3 called Singstar Afrikaanse Treffers. Yes, you can now mould the next generation of Noot vir Noot contestants and audience members with killer treffers like Jan Asseblief Tog  Squeeze My, Drie Pikkewyne and Rooi Rok Bokkie.

The full list of songs available to belt out in your best Afrikaans accent includes:

Howard Lonstein, the independent product manager at local PlayStation distributor, Ster Kinekor Entertainment, says South Africa is one of only five territories internationally that has been granted the right by Sony Computer Entertainment to compile a local SingStar.

“Afrikaans music is the second biggest genre in South Africa,” Lonstein says, “And if you look at festivals such as Innibos, it plays host to some of the biggest concerts in South Africa. We’re confident that the title will do well.”
If you absolutely have to buy it, SingStar Afrikaanse Treffers will be available at various retailers on March 30 for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 platforms as a standalone product. For PS3 consoles, it will retail for R339, and for PS2 it will cost R259. If you choose to purchase it bundled with microphones, it will cost R615.
