Sho Madjozi, Ndlovu Youth Choir and YoungstaCPT to perform at Cape Town’s ‘Festive Lights Switch-On’

Cape Town’s ‘Festive Lights Switch-On’ turns 50 this year and the city is celebrating with a mega lineup featuring some of the country’s freshest talent

The iconic open-air event takes places annually on December 1st, in the heart of the Mother City at the Grand Parade. The festive ‘Lights Switch-On’ has become a much-loved Christmas tradition for locals and a must-see for tourists.

The switching on of the festive lights is something all of Cape Town looks forward to as it signals the start of the festive season. This year’s theme focuses on diversity, which is what Cape Town reflects and different communities across the city are expected to be part of this celebration of togetherness and sharing.” – Executive Mayor, Dan Plato

The event is free to the public and will feature a star-studded lineup including performances by Sho Madjozi, Ndlovu Youth Choir, YoungstaCPT and many more as well as amazing video mapping displays. This year’s theme for the festival is ‘Window to the World’ – a celebration of the diversity that embodies the City of Cape Town.
