The Fez are bringing down legendary female DJ, Sarah Main who is a resident at the even more legendary club – Pacha in Ibiza. She will be supported by MyCityByNight’s favourite mooiness and Cape Town DJ, Anthea and Rob Taylor. The event will be going down this Friday and you can catch Sarah Main at H2O on Saturday evening (for all our JHB and Pretoria readers). It will be R70 at the door for normal entrance and R100 for VIP and trust me, that is definitely well worth it. I don’t think it is possible to have a bad night at Fez, there is something about that place… Oh and get there early to avoid the line, it can get monsterous.
Sarah Main Bio:
Sarah Main. She’s sassy, sexy and seriously stylish. The queen of smooth house, rocking electro and jacking sleazy beats, hailing from Sydney Australia. An in-demand DJ, technically gifted producer and glamorous international ambassador for Pacha Ibiza. Whichever way you put it, this is one musical talent with a hot career on the rise.
In 2009 Sarah enters her ninth consecutive year as resident at Pacha, continuing to play her infamous weekly sessions with David Guetta’s F*** Me I’m Famous extravaganza and alongside the Swedish House Mafia on their new Monday night venture. Renowned worldwide for epitomising both the sound and image of Pacha, Sarah is constantly touring the globe for the iconic clubbing brand, bringing the Ibiza vibe to festivals such as Rock In Rio and Creamfields Central Europe and major clubs in over 30 countries on every continent.
Going global via the airwaves, Sarah hosts the weekly prime time ‘Pacha with Sarah Main’ on France’s biggest dance station Radio FG, after recently wrapping up her 3 year radio success story ‘Pacha with Sarah Main’ on Galaxy FM. She has seven impressive compilations to her name – including four instalments of the famous Pure Pacha series alongside Pete Tong, Goldfish and more.
Sarah’s mixes are organic and energetic, as are her own productions. Currently in the studio, she is collaborating with some of the industry’s hottest producers, including tracks with Mutiny and Caged Baby scheduled for release and with more original productions in the pipeline for Summer.
Her skills and talent were recognised in 2006 when she received the highly coveted ‘Best Ibiza DJ’ award at the Ibiza DJ Awards, however Sarah is now famed as much for her style as her sound. Embodying the Pacha ideal – glamour, vibrancy and international style – she has featured in many of the club’s photographic campaigns including a cover shoot for the Pacha magazine alongside Smokin’ Jo and Tania Vulcano. As one of the world’s most recognised female DJs, she is regularly requested by the world’s media for feature articles and photo shoots.
A favourite on the music TV circuit, Sarah was selected by Ministry Of Sound TV to present the Pioneer ‘How To DJ Series’ alongside James Zabiela and Phil K, hosted her own three hour music show on Flaunt TV and made her film debut, appearing as herself in ‘It’s All Gone Pete Tong’. 2009 sees her continue her role as spokesperson for Pioneer, a testament to her technical abilities, talent and passion for production.
DJ, producer, remixer and style icon – Sarah Main is nothing less than a major international talent set for even bigger things ahead.
