Piers Morgan is probably one of my favourite people to follow on Twitter because of his avid support for the Gunners (Arsenal) and his strong opinions. He’s literally spewed hatred upon every single footballer with a Twitter account including the likes of Robin van Persie after he left the London team in search of glory at one of their oldest rivals Manchester United (my team), prompting Piers Morgan to rename RVP as Robin van Pursestrings.
I suppose I would be pissed off too, if I supported a team that never won anything and saw all of its best players leave to other teams where they went on to be extremely successful winning boatloads of trophies (RVP, Fabregas, Nasri, Song, Henry etc). This weekend, RVP finally hit back at Piers with some trolling of his own.
Over the weekend RVP sent Piers an autographed picture of him with the Premier League trophy that he had won with United, complete with a personalised message:
Piersy my man, thanks for all the support! You made this day even more special! All the best, Van Pursestrings.
And then on the back –
Great to be a champ… so many #Tears4Piersy
Then, like a fool Piers decided to Tweet this to the World causing the internet to explode with messages from supporters and trolls alike. He then went on to say that he would be using the thoughtful gift from RVP as a doorstop for his loo. Nice.
