Oh my savoury macaroon people, this is a definite must-visit in my books.
Stacky introduced me to this little gem of a restaurant and it’s become my favourite go-to spot in the Southern Suburbs for a coffee meeting, lovely lunch with mum or a looong lunch with a friend with wine and giggles.
So why is it so marvellous?
Wolfe Street – A very quaint area in Chelsea, Wynberg (Southern Suburbs, Cape Town) – flanked by gorgeous fabric shops, art and interior shops and other little bars and restaurants. The interior is elegant and chic with wooden floors and beautiful touches with a dollop of fun – very serene and happy making.
I am actually blown away by the menu and they really deliver. They also have an indulgent cake counter, floor to ceiling deli with sumptious bottles of yummy things and some great wine.
Recommended (things I’ve tried, but I can’t wait to try more…)
Simply smashed avo and bacon on toast – a huge portion of fresh avo with an eye-popping mound of crispy, perfectly cooked bacon on toast (R48)
Imam Biyaldi – roasted aubergine with almond crunch, peppers, sweetcorn labneh (homemade cheese) and chorizo (R80)
Calamari salad – filled with macadamia nuts, goats cheese, garlic, avo – also large and seriously delicious (R102)
There are also lots of breakfast options from granola to croissants to gourmet Eggs Benedict.Great touches like Miss Molly by the glass (bubbles) and craft beers are also on offer.
I would go there for a coffee, a meeting, lunch, tea, bubbles and lunch again. It’s a pity they don’t do supper… seriously.
Plus points: Wi-fi – the real kind that doesn’t cut you off after a couple of mails.
