ret·ro [re-troh] adjective of or designating the style of an earlier time
Retrofest returns to the gorgeous NIROX Sculpture Park in the Cradle of Humankind as we celebrate an age when Music changed the World. A selection of South Africa’s finest acoustic musicians will perform some of the greatest songs from the 1960s & 1970s live.
Songs by Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, Nina Simone, Otis Redding, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and more will be brought to life by local artists: Josie Field, Donovan Borne, Bye Beneco, Nic Dinnie, Justin Serrao, The Urban Village and The Runaway Train Cult.
Cuisine on offer will be courtesy of The Epicurian Emporium – a collective of high-end food stalls from the florishing food & design markets, with emphasis on healthy, naturally-sourced options.
Gates open at 10am with music from 11am. There is ample secure parking inside the venue and concert goers are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the full day of music and to tour the Sculpture Park.
