Some facts about the Red Bull Street Style World Finals
What is Red Bull Street Style?
Red Bull Street Style is an international Freestyle Football competition.
How many countries are participating?
Where is the World Final taking place?
In Cape Town, on the Grand Parade. A super arena will be erected on the parade which will house the ballers, the local and international media and the public.
When is it taking place?
The qualifying battles are taking place on the 26 and 27 April.
The finals are taking place on the 28 April.
How does the competition work?
Each battle follows the same format: 3 minutes, 2 players, 1 ball, with each freestyler having 20 seconds to impress the judges before passing the ball back to his competitor.
How many ballers will participate in the Final?
The 60 ballers will participate in qualifying battles for two days before the event (26 & 27 April). The 60 will be reduced to the top 16 finalists who will then compete for the title of World Champion on the 28 April.
Who will be representing South Africa?
Kamal “Kamalio” Ranchod, our 2009 Red Bull Street Style champ. (Check the video at the bottom for the promo for the 2010 event here in Cape Town)
Who is the reigning champion?
The 2008 title went to France’sArnaud “Sean” Garnier. Sean will be defending his title at this year’s World Finals in Cape Town.

- Former Juventus, AC Milan and Barcelona star Edgar Davids
- Chris Njokwana – South African Red Bull Street Style Champion

Saturday, 24 April 2010: Arrival of Athletes
Sunday, 25 April 2010: Practice Day
Monday, 26 April 2010: Qualifier Day 1 – Group Battles
Tuesday, 27 April 2010: Qualifier Day 2 – Group Battles
Wednesday, 28 April 2010: World Final – Top 16

Ricky ByNight and I were lucky enough to get ourselves some media passes to the final at the Grand Parade, I just want to see these guys busting some of the mad skills you see incorporated in street soccer these days, almost like breakdance and flaring but with the ball aswell (Obviously, haha). Its almost as though these guys are having mano e mano dance battles. I would also really like to see the last winner Arnaud “Sean” Garnier who absolutely dominated his opponents with some outrageously skill, yet the most innovative moves that I could hardly understand how he was doing them. So seeing this guy live is going to a blessing! A real blessing!

Unbelievably crazy! I honestly wish I had some skills like these guys. Its complete madness! The tricks they are throwing down are just to much for me. We need one or two of these guys on our indoor soccer team. That would be a little boost, I’d say! Here is a little more information regarding the Finals on the 28th of April:
