After the success of PSYMCBN Sunday Funday with us at Synergy last December, along with three indoor winter events at District Night Club, Psymedia returns with Under The African Sky daytime party at Hillcrest Quarry on 23 February 2019.
Psymedia | Psytrance Cape Town have managed to pack the daytime party with 10 talented local artists. Every artist has earned their stripes in the South African scene and a ton of experience rocking the dance floors abroad. We will take you through the journey, so you know exactly who is who!
Deadbeat FM is the side project of infamous Shane Renew. More commonly known as Deliriant, his productions and DJ sets as Deadbeat FM deliver the same type of precision. Expect some powerful minimal and tech house; making use of dirty bass lines, fat kicks and huge drums & percussion, often with a driving yet minimalist undertone.

After a successful career as one-half of Corona, Magnus Claussen began performing as iTone 5 years ago. His tech-inspired take on psychedelic music has landed him releases on Solar Tech Records and Nano Records, plus an upcoming performance at Psychedelic Experience Festival 2019 in Germany.

The founder of Expo Records, Grant Plemming has access to unreleased gems fresh out the oven. Over the years, he has perfected his trade with seamless sets, travelling abroad for a mini European tour including Boomtown (United Kingdom) and Sunshine Lake Festival (Italy)

A veteran of the scene, DJ Mark has delivered quality sets every season since just about forever. He currently represents Dynamic Range’s label – Expo Records. With a massive collection of music from over the years, DJ Mark always puts together beautiful journeys blending hot new tracks with older gems.

James Copeland has contributed to the South African music scene in many ways with several creative outlets like Broken Toy, Sad Paradise, Super Evil, Nesono and Damage. Although more involved with Copeland Rum these days (check it out!), Broken Toy is always welcomed on a lineup with his funky tunes!
With a new album on the way and a recent performance at Boom Festival in Portugal, Headroom is currently one of the most popular exports of South African psychedelic music. Since rocking his Artelligent LP debut in 2008, we’ve become familiar with Headroom making our dance floors go wild.

Co-founder of Into The Wild Experience and global festival traveller, Troy Evason has experienced psychedelic culture in many countries around the world. His knowledge gained over the years has led to refining his sound, more recently delivering groovy dance floor friendly sets. Geometric Flux is headed to Sounds of The West in Mauritius for NYE celebrations.
The founder of IDM Mag, Dave Mac is a true veteran and has played just about every role in the music scene since the early ’90s. More recently, Dave added another achievement to his career – playing at Boom Festival in Portugal.

The primary project of Shane Renew, Deliriant has stuck to his crystal clear production and signature sound over the last decade that always receives a good response from the dance floor. He is currently gearing up for a European tour next year including countries Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria, UK and Portugal.

Pamm Legg has been rocking the South African dance floors for almost two decades and performed at international events Hadra Festival (France) and Mushroom Valley (Australia) this year, plus an upcoming booking at The Experience NYE Festival in Thailand. Tune Raider also directed the documentary ‘Under The African Sky’ detailing the local psytrance scene in the ’90s.
