The Bay Harbour Unplugged Sessions kick off next week with the legendary South African soloist Johnny Clegg, followed by one of my favourite bands Prime Circle at the Bay Harbour Sound Stage on the 29th August 2013.
After something like 11 years together, Ross Learmonth has one of those voices that you could recognise quite easily, without using Shazam to confirm that the track you were listening to in the car was actually Prime Circle. For the band itself, it’s not about rockstardom, it was and will always be about the fans and the songs.
“Without the fans, we would be nothing, and I don’t ever want to do anything else. Creating music for a living is a privilege, and we never forget that,”
– said Ross Learnmonth
The event is proudly hosted at the Bay Harbour Market in Hout Bay as part of a burgeoning series of unplugged music sessions aimed at bringing you closer to the artists in a very intimate setting, allowing you to really get to know your favourite artists by candlelight.
“The format of the gigs is unique, in that it brings some of SA’s top bands and musicians to the Bay Harbour Sound Stage in an intimate candlelit environment, where they will tell stories around their lives and their songs” “This will also serve to further entrench the credentials of Bay Harbour as a respected live music venue.”
– says co-founder Anthony Stroebel.
Selected food stalls will be open as well as a full bar, so come early, grab a seat (first come, first served) and unwind next to the warm fire. Limited tickets are available.
