PlayStation Officially Announces Cross-Play Starting With Fortnite.

For years the entertainment conglomerate, Sony have infamously been rigid on cross-play but it seems the company has finally come around, confirming last week that PS4 users will soon be able to enjoy Fortnite with other console and mobile gamers.

Announced in a recent blog post, Sony stated that the cross-platform gaming would [for now] only be available through an open beta launched on Fortnite and will allow PS4 users to play with and against gamers on platforms such as Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Mac operating systems.

PS4 users and gamers across the world are celebrating this announcement as for many years, users have been asking for a cross-platform feature to no avail. After declining Microsoft’s invite to play together, users have had to put up with a long list of reasons as to why cross-play is just not something PS4 users will want – despite endless requests for it.

Gamers speculate the Fortnite cross-platform trial won’t last long and predict Sony to find almost any reason to shut it down – so play nice out there!
