This is like being back on the playground all over again – Pharrell Williams is now super bleak with Will.i.am after he tried to sue him for using the phrase ‘I Am’, which the Black Eyed Peas singer claims he owns the rights to. He’s so upset that he is now embarking on legal action of his own, suing Will.I.Am on the grounds that his shit is weak.
Pharrell wants the courts to rule that the trademark for his ‘I Am OTHER’ company is not infringing on Will.i.am’s ‘I Am’ trademark because of a difference in uses of the term. Pharell argues that Will.I.Am’s use of the term is comparable to Dr. Suess’ use in the children’s book ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ which features a character named Sam I Am. ”In contrast, the I Am Other mark means ‘I am something else,’ leaving what that ‘else’ is to the imagination of the consumer,” – yeah… I don’t get it either.
