After an exceptional response from his support slot at Ed Sheeran’s concerts this past week, Passenger has confirmed solo South African dates for his fans.
Mike Rosenberg, aka Passenger, has built a loyal following, garnered accolades and chart success with his intimate, folk-inflected sound. Born and raised in Brighton UK, Rosenberg initially started Passenger as a band, but after a debut album, he headed out on his own, assuming the moniker as his stage name.
Over his expansive career, Rosenberg has remained a constant presence on the folk and pop charts, issuing a stack of lyrical and cinematic albums. In the summer of 2017 and at the end of a major tour, Rosenberg released his eighth studio album, ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’, which was issued by his own label. The album peaked at number five on the U.K. charts. In 2018, Rosenberg celebrated his American heritage with the rootsy, Americana-inflected ‘Runaway’, featuring the single “Hell or High Water.”
There have always been two sides to Mike Rosenberg – Passenger, the epic, radio-friendly persona represented by his hit singles and critically acclaimed albums – and the more introverted, singer-songwriter that can be found on ‘Whispers II’ and ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’.
Passenger will perform live this November in both Cape Town and Johannesburg. For more information on both shows and to book your ticket head on over to Big Concerts website and join the event on Facebook.
