A few months after the release of his critically acclaimed sophomore album, SR2, K.O is back with clean visuals for the fan favourite single MS2 (Mission Statement 2).
The song is a sequel to the hit track Mission Statement off K.O’s debut solo album, Skhanda Republic. Mr Swagger of the Season abandons his usual laidback street style opting for a more dapper look in a suit. The Ofentse Mwase directed video sees the Skhanda Gawd rapping about “Money, power and respect …” through downtown Johannesburg .
“MS2 Is a single off my album SR2, also, it being one of the fans favourite, we figured we might as well do the visuals,“
– said the No Feelings rapper.
Breaking down the thinking behind the idea of the MS2 video, which was interestingly shot in one take, K.O expanded on how he and Ofentse executed it.
“Ofentse Mwase Films – who also helped me with the No Feelings video – and myself were able to come up with the concept. We wanted to use one single aerial shot, using a drone where the camera descends all the way down to shoulder level all in one sequence. We choreographed the video in such a way that, as soon as the director said ‘Action!’ I would perform the whole track. The drone was programmed in such a way that it was able to capture all the choreography from the beginning to the end. I really always want to do something different,”
– said the Call Me rapper.
