Monday Music – Emoutikon

Hailing from the multi-cultural and multi-talented Mother City in South Africa, Emoutikon has been an apprentice of music production for just over a decade.

Progressing from Hard House through to Psytrance and Techno, his fresh flavour can only be described as a unique fusion of deep, pulsing bassliness, dark yet funky driving grooves and amphetic sounds with a glaze of psychadelikness.

2009 saw him rock his first major outdoor gig of over 2000 people, at the Alien Safari Flying Circus, taking them on a outdoor tech journey through the Saturday sunset session.

After showing great talent as a DJ and Producer, Emoutikon was signed to PsynOpticz (RSA) in 2010, where he plays his regular once a month gig at the weekly PsynOpticz parties every thursday at 121 Castle.

2011 sees him joining forces with fellow Techno DJ, Rob Gonzo, to form the Psy Tech duo, Gokon Rave. He is also working on a Tech House project under the alias Emile Oh.

Checkout his Soundcloud page for his latest productions and downloadable mixes.

Rumoured to have the blue-prints for Krang's TechnoDrome, stolen straight from Dimension X, he’s the type of guy who exudes so much coolness that he adds whole countries on Facebook at one time instead of just people. Always up for a party and a Tequila shot or two this is the guy who we always call first, both before and after a night out…

    1. Hi Cyndy.

Thanks for that, we’ll take a look into Byron.

We’ll see if he fits the MCBN criteria! 🙂

    1. This is top quality stuff. I love the psytech crossover. Wish we could hear more of this at our parties or even indoor in a lekker club! But preferably outdoors!

  1. All the best crazies come out of the wilderness… I dug his set at alien, twas a nice unexpected change of pace, looking forward to listening to this, once my snail-like internet lets it buffer 😛
    GO EMO!!

  2. Hey nice

You should check out Chabunk. Been releasing tracks on international compilatations, been playing alot of the festivals over here. My Monday Music recommendation 🙂

    1. Hey Bob

Funnily enough, I was looking into either Chabunk or Silo for this Monday music.

Thanks for the recommendation. Lets see who makes it this Monday 🙂

      Great recommendation by the way!
