Mix of the Day | dj low – below the surface

It’s been 4 years since we have heard anything from dj low.

Given his last mix was a live recording he has always had a way of creeping up exactly at the right moment. His latest mix is a self professed “selection of ambient sweeps, deep glitches, drum kicks, sub bass and headspace” and leaves you with a sense of hope.

Whilst most dj’s these days are hellbent on slamming together the latest hits and gimmicks, the mix is a great change of pace offering a super chilled decent into the murky low slung depths of b sides and forgotten gems.

Just the right amount of vocal hooks keeps things interesting whilst a feeling of futurism seems to reside from the skipping drums and swinging hi hats.

A breath of fresh air and something that indeed seeks to go below the surface.

Always up for a party and a Tequila shot or two this is the guy who we always call first, both before and after a night out…
