EASY FREAK has started off 2018 with the release of a brand new music video for the latest single, CAP2VATED which was released in December 2017. The single is the latest offering from their debut album I’M ALRIGHT, released in July last year.
With their sound always evolving as they grow and learn about music, EASY FREAK describes the single as a dynamic track with deep lyrics based on a relationship with God. With their signature crossover genre and groovy beats, the song will appeal to anyone who enjoys dancing or having a good time as well as to listeners who like to focus on lyrics.
The video for CAP2VATED was shot in and around Durban in December 2017 by filmmaker Avi Mack. The video concept tells the story of a guy and a girl who meet at a diner, spend the night out in the town and end up falling for each other. But the guy doesn’t feel like he can follow through on his feelings and the girl leaves. But in the end, the guy ends up going to see the girl at her place. The beginning and end scenes, according to timeline, all take place after the bulk middle scenes, with the bulk middle scenes being the guy’s flashbacks of the night.
“It’s really interesting how the lyrics and the music video work together. I wrote this track about God, and about a relationship with Him, but we wanted to portray the lyrics in a more relatable way. Most people interpret the lyrics of the song in the way it’s depicted in the music video, and that’s the beauty of music. Every listener interprets it in their own way.”
– Jude Kenrick.
Fans can expect something a little different from EASY FREAK for this video. The video portrays more of a story line compared to previous videos with a balance between the story being portrayed and energetic scenes of the duo jamming out.
“We always want our music to make people move and dance, so we gotta have some scenes of us doing the same! We’re incredibly proud of the Cap2vated music video and we hope that everybody digs it too!”
– says Jude.
